EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) — Star Memphis basketball recruit Mikey Williams pleaded guilty to one felony charge in a gun case on Thursday, and one of his attorneys said he does not expect the 19-year-old to face jail time. In a deal with prosecutors, Williams pleaded guilty to one felony count of making a criminal threat and to a special allegation of using a firearm during the threat, attorney Randy M. Grossman said. Although a judge would have the discretion to sentence Williams to a year in jail, “no custody is contemplated,” the attorney said. “Nobody was injured in this case, nobody testified that anybody saw Mikey actually fire the gun and he didn’t admit he was the one who fired the gun,” Grossman said. “He admitted responsibility and pleaded guilty.

Summer is back, and so is this nostalgic beauty staple

Summer is the season of Sun-In, a hair lightening spray that’s been birthing beach blondes (and beach oranges) for decades. As with all effectively marketed beauty products, Sun-In didn’t just promise lighter hair: It promised a perfect summer. “Just spray Sun-In under the sun, and see what happens,” a 1971 ad from Glamour Magazine reads. Other hair lightening sprays have come and gone, like Clairol’s Lemon Go Lightly, but Sun-In occupies a singular place in people’s hair memories. In this new lineup of summer potions, Sun-In is still the nostalgic classic.

The Dallas Mavericks were fined $750,000 by the N.B.A. on Friday for playing a weakened lineup in a game in an effort to miss the postseason and hang on to a first-round draft pick. The Mavericks sat out five of their best players for their second-to-last game of the season, against the Chicago Bulls on April 7. The remaining Mavericks lost the game, 115-112, and were eliminated from a chance to qualify for a play-in game. “It’s not so much waving the white flag,” Coach Jason Kidd told reporters after the game.
