Don Lemon announced he'd been fired by CNN on Monday and said he found out from his agent. CNN later said he'd been offered the chance to speak to management "but instead released a statement on Twitter." Forty-five minutes later, CNN tweeted a statement of its own that called Lemon's inaccurate. In its initial statement, CNN said Lemon "will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years." Lemon later apologized for the remarks.
