CNN —CBS’ “60 Minutes” on Sunday rejected former President Donald Trump’s claims that the show edited its interview with Vice President Kamala Harris at her campaign’s direction. “Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false,” the show said in a statement that noted that Trump backed out of his own “60 Minutes” interview earlier this month. “60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes,” the statement reads. If he would like to discuss the issues facing the nation and the Harris interview, we would be happy to have him on 60 Minutes,” the show said in its statement.

CNN —Donald Trump called Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi each “an enemy from within,” even as the former president’s Republican allies attempt to argue that his previous comments labeling political opponents as such are being misinterpreted. But when you look at ‘Shifty Schiff’ and some of the others, yeah, they are, to me, the enemy from within,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News’ “MediaBuzz” that aired Sunday. Fox News’ Howard Kurtz gave Trump an opportunity to clarify — “He’s a political opponent of yours, but is he an enemy?” — to which Trump responded, “Of course he’s an enemy, he’s an enemy.”Trump also called Pelosi an “enemy from within,” falsely claiming the then-speaker of the House had the opportunity to protect the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. “I did not hear President Trump in that clip say he’s going to sic the military on Adam Schiff. He’s talking about using the National Guard and the military to keep the peace in our streets.”And Virginia Gov.

Donald Trump said in a Fox News interview that he's considering a national ban on abortion. Related storiesBut one question Trump hasn't openly addressed is how he landed on the timeline for a national abortion ban. South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced a piece of legislation in 2022 that would institute a federal abortion ban. Those respondents consisted of 52% of men saying they strongly or somewhat support the 16-week national ban, and 54% of women saying they strongly support or somewhat support the same ban. "As President Trump has stated, he would sit down with both sides and negotiate a deal that everyone will be happy with.

Hosts Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, who had been expected to testify in the Dominion trial, did not reference the settlement, the largest struck by an American media company, during their primetime broadcasts on Tuesday night. Fox News is owned by Fox Corp (FOXA.O) and is the most-watched U.S. cable news network. Howard Kurtz, the host of Fox News' MediaBuzz show, appeared on Cavuto's show and during "Special Report with Bret Baier." On "Special Report" Kurtz read the Fox statement, but did not include the dollar figure of the settlement. In response to a Reuters request for comment about Fox's coverage of the settlement, a spokesperson shared the company's statement about the Dominion settlement that aired on Cavuto and Baier's shows.
Jake Tapper laughed as he read out Fox News' statement about its settlement with Dominion. The conservative news network reached the settlement just before a trial was about to start. Dominion sued Fox for broadcasting false claims that its machines were used to rig the 2020 election. Tapper said the settlement "can only be interpreted as one of the ugliest and most embarrassing moments in the history of journalism." In a statement to Deadline, Fox News hit back, saying that "we can't look at CNN's awful ratings without laughing and we're sure Warner Bros.
Fox News’s last-minute settlement with Dominion Voting Systems on Tuesday earned banner coverage on every television news network but one: Fox News. The $787.5 million settlement was covered only three times by Fox News in about four hours after the settlement became public, amounting to about six minutes of coverage. Anderson Cooper, host of the prime-time show “Anderson Cooper 360,” led his program with the case and also interviewed Davinda Brook, lead counsel for Dominion. Neil Cavuto, host of the afternoon news program “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on Fox News, covered the settlement as news of it broke and again after the dollar figure was announced. Howard Kurtz, Fox News’s media analyst, told Mr. Cavuto that the election fraud claims about Dominion were “obviously false” and “conspiracy theories.” In another segment, Mr. Kurtz said that “both sides had an incentive to avoid a costly six-week trial.”
Internal messages show how Fox News anchors privately mocked 2020 election conspiracy theories. Dominion, an elections technology company, filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News in March 2021, accusing the media company of spreading conspiracy theories that claimed Dominion helped rig the 2020 election results. "It's dangerously insane these conspiracy theories," Fox reporter Lucas Tomlinson said to Bret Baier, host of Special Report. A search through FoxNews.com turns up zero recent stories regarding the Dominion lawsuit. "That is an actual threat to democracy and it points up the core problem which is we're not really very serious about democracy if we're using electronic voting machines," Carlson said.
“You have a historical memory to call upon and you see the trust of American foreign policy and other foreign policy,” he said. “Anything that hurts America’s credibility, hurts America.”New York Times columnist William Safire praised the resignation. “In his final official act, Bernard Kalb rose above ‘State Department spokesman’ to become the spokesman for all Americans who respect and demand the truth,” Safire wrote. At CBS Marvin and Bernard were known as “The Kalbs,” but Bernard lived somewhat in the shadow of his younger brother. One widely circulated, but apocryphal, story had their mother calling the CBS foreign desk in New York and saying: “Hello, this is Marvin Kalb’s mother.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was stripped from committee assignments after joining Congress in 2021. Greene said Sunday her QAnon support was in the past and that she got sucked into things online. Host Howard Kurtz said Democrats stripped Greene of her committees in 2021 due to statements she made about conspiracy theories and her past support of QAnon. "Well, like a lot of people today, I had easily gotten sucked into some things I had seen on the internet," Greene said. Shortly after joining Congress, Greene was removed from committees due to statements she made related to violence against lawmakers and conspiracy theories.
