CNN —The 2023 Nobel Prize in literature has been awarded to Jon Fosse for “his innovative plays and prose which give voice to the unsayable,” the Swedish Academy announced in Stockholm on Thursday. His work consists of around 40 plays, as well as a number of novels, poetry, essays, children’s books and translations. The committee lauded the author’s style, which has come to be known as “Fosse minimalism.”“Fosse presents everyday situations that are instantly recognizable in our own lives. Erlend Bore needed to get more exercise, so he bought a metal detector and started walking more. He found what he thought were chocolate coins, but they were gold jewelry from about 500 AD. Bore's discovery has been dubbed the "find of the century," but he can't keep the treasure. Earlier this year, 51-year-old Erlend Bore bought a metal detector after he was advised by his doctor to get off the sofa and find a new hobby. But one day his detector immediately started beeping and just five inches below the soil he unearthed nine gold pendants, three gold rings and 10 gold pearls.

It turned out to be nine pendants, three rings and 10 gold pearls in what was described as the country's gold find of the century. The rare find was made this summer by 51-year-old Erlend Bore on the southern island of Rennesoey, near the city of Stavanger. In August, Bore began walking around the mountainous island with his metal detector. The plan is to exhibit the find at the Archaeological Museum in Stavanger, about 300 kilometers (200 miles) southwest of Oslo.
