California startup Gridware is working to prevent forest fires and make the grid more resilient.
But Timothy Barat, the cofounder and CEO of risk management and wildfire mitigation startup Gridware, does exactly that.
On a huge plot of land outside California's Bay area, Gridware has its own electricity grid complete with full-size 40-foot poles and power lines spanning 200 feet.
Wildfires can be sparked by a number of things, including downed power lines.
For example, the startup can detect vegetation striking power lines as soon as it happens.
