Instead, the tide of popular support swelled from the winner’s interview a watery-eyed Alderson gave in the wake of triumph at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. Fighting back tears, the victor recalled the years of bullying he had endured at school, and even some golf clubs. “Normal people just think people with disabilities are different and they’re probably easier to be bullied and picked on,” Alderson told CNN Sport. “I’ve known Spud for a long time, so I know if he’s having a mini blow-up,” Blucher said. “If you’re being bullied, just do your best to ignore it and be the better person,” he said.

But my love story with Chez Janou began years prior, on a chilly January night. A picture I snapped of the scallops at Chez Janou in January 2020 — please ignore the iPhone 8 camera quality. Then came the famous chocolate mousse that had first tempted me through Chez Janou's doors. The chocolate mousse makes for good clicks, but it's also legitimately delicious. They recommend ordering the fried sardines, juicy and crisp duck — which Kaitlyn said was one of the best she's ever tried — ratatouille, and, of course, the chocolate mousse.

Currently, many personal-use products in supermarkets, such as body wash, conditioners, and other hygiene products, use a lot of single-use plastics. "It creates so much plastic waste, and shipping water for these products also creates a lot of CO2 emissions," Grange told Business Insider. This reduces water waste, which would otherwise be required to manufacture and transport these products. Amid a tougher funding environment for D2C startups in the past two years, Grange told BI that 900.care's "growth economics and product-market fit" helped them to secure funding. Check out the 16-slide pitch deck used to secure the fresh funding.

___The generational shift at quarterback in the NFL reached a new milestone last week. This was the first time since Week 6 of the 2002 season that no quarterback born in the 1980s took the field. That raised the total of rookie starting QBs this season to nine, tying the non-replacement record set in 2019. The youth movement at quarterback has played a role in the struggles on offense across the league in the first half of the season, with scoring at its lowest mark through nine weeks since 2007. Bottles of Penfolds Grange, made by Australian wine maker Penfolds and owned by Australia's Treasury Wine Estates, sit on a shelf for sale at a wine shop in central Sydney, Australia, August 4, 2014. The wine producer has been resetting its strategy in an attempt to diversify outside of China, which used to contribute a third of its profits, after Beijing imposed tariffs on Australian wine in 2021 when Canberra called for an inquiry into the origins of COVID-19. The winemaker's combined premium and luxury portfolios delivered double-digit gross profit growth in fiscal 2023, according to its annual report. Including cost synergies of more than $20 million, the acquisition is expected to be mid to high-single-digit earnings per share (EPS) accretive in fiscal 2025, the first year of Treasury owning DAOU. Treasury said it would also issue A$157 million of new shares to the existing owners of DAOU.

CNN —Western Australia may soon be home to the world’s tallest wooden building, after authorities in Perth green-lit plans for a 191.2-meter-tall (627-foot) “hybrid” tower constructed using mass timber. The developers say 42% of the proposed tower will be constructed from timber, with the columns and core made of reinforced concrete. If completed, the high-rise will surpass the world’s tallest timber-concrete hybrid building, the Ascent tower in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which stands at 25 stories or 86 meters (284 feet), according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. Like Atlassian, the proposed C6 tower will combine laminated timber beams with a steel exoskeleton to support the the structure. REUTERS/David Gray/File PhotoAug 15 (Reuters) - Australia's Treasury Wine Estates (TWE.AX) reported a 3.3% fall in annual profit on Tuesday, mainly hurt by a decline in wine sales in the United States. A decline in shipment of premium products and low availability of luxury wines pressured sales at the Treasury America segment, the largest contributor to the winemaker's revenue. The company reported a net profit after tax of A$254.5 million for the year ended June 30, compared with A$263.2 million a year earlier. Mandatory Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY SportsMay 5 (Reuters) - The absence of Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood from this year's Ryder Cup is sad, but could herald a generational shift, said Team Europe captain Luke Donald. "I played with all three and they've been stalwarts of, and given a lot to, both the Ryder Cup and European Tour. This year's Ryder Cup could represent a "generational shift", said Donald, who replaced Henrik Stenson as Team Europe captain last year after the Swede said he was joining the lucrative Saudi-backed series. "There's great momentum with European golf, we've already had seven winners in the U.S. (this season) and a bunch of people who haven't played in the Ryder Cup have played great this year..."This year's Ryder Cup runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club near Rome.

SYDNEY, April 24 (Reuters) - With sell-out crowds, beer-drenched celebrations and even a few "shoeys", the LIV Golf rebel tour delivered on its promise to change the face of the game at its 12th event in the Australian city of Adelaide at the weekend. "Everybody here in Adelaide has had just the best time," said English former world number three Paul Casey. "I smelled like beer the whole entire rest of the day," said Koepka, brother of four-times major champion Brooks. Cameron Smith, Australia's most recent major champion, finished fourth after a final-round six-under-par 66 and said the tournament had set the standard for the Saudi-backed circuit. "For Aussies, I think this is the benchmark for not only, I guess, Australian LIV Golf, but kind of world LIV Golf," said last year's British Open champion.
[1/5] Apr 22, 2023; Adelaide,South Australia, AUS; Talor Gooch of Team Rangegoats hits a tee shot during the second round of LIV Golf Adelaide golf tournament at Grange Golf Club. "Winning on any tour is hard, winning on this type of golf course in front of this type of a crowd is not easy," said Gooch, who finished 19-under. "You can't go three days on this type of golf course and not make mistakes so when I made the birdie on 11, that was time to dig deep and go get a victory." Gooch started the day 20-under following back-to-back rounds of 62 and he picked up another shot with a birdie at the par-four fifth. Gooch rallied, however, with birdies at the 11th and 13th, steadying the American as he went on to win his first event on the LIV Tour.

SYDNEY, April 20 (Reuters) - After falling short in their bid to gatecrash the Masters, the stars of LIV Golf break fresh ground in Adelaide this weekend when they take the rebel tour to Australia for the first time. The fourth of the 14 events on the schedule in the second season of LIV Golf was all but guaranteed a warm reception Down Under, despite concerns in some quarters that its Saudi backers are engaged in "sportswashing". "Obviously we're going there to win," said the 29-year-old world number six, who defected to LIV for a reported $140 million after his British Open triumph last year. Former world number one and twice major champion Martin Kaymer will make his return after six months on the sidelines recovering from a wrist injury as captain of "Cleeks". Having been pointedly excluded from Augusta, LIV Golf Commissioner Greg Norman has been ubiquitous in the media in his homeland this week promoting his product.

Earlier this year, more than 70 companies in the UK began one of the largest-ever trials of a 4-day work week. Here, Ursell shares several key lessons he'd tell other companies considering a shortened work week. Preparation is vitalWe started talking about a four-day week more than four years ago. We also spoke to companies that were doing a four-day week and took their advice. The four-day week isn't a compressed work schedule but rather reduced hours, with the objective of being more productive, happier, and more focused.
Job applications have soared at companies taking part in the trial for a four-day work week. Companies in the U.K. are looking at a more promising solution: the four-day work week. The company is among those taking part in the U.K.'s trial for a four-day work week. "We have definitely seen an increase in interest from job seekers," she said, adding that shortly after shifting to the four-day work week, the team was able to fill a position that had been vacant for a long time. Britain's four-day work week trial is the largest of its kind so far, and has had widely positive reactions from employees and companies taking part.
PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) — A Kentucky man who killed three students and injured five more in a school shooting a quarter century ago has a chance at parole this week. Michael Carneal was a 14-year-old freshman in 1997 when he fired a stolen pistol at a before-school prayer group in the lobby of Heath High School, near Paducah, Kentucky. He received a life sentence with the opportunity for parole after 25 years, the maximum allowed at the time for someone his age. If the board rules against him, they can decide how long Carneal should wait before his next opportunity to seek parole. Commonwealth’s Attorney Daniel Boaz, the lead prosecutor for the area that includes Paducah, wrote a letter to the Kentucky Parole Board on Sept. 9 opposing Carneal’s release.
The White House struck a tentative deal Thursday to avoid a rail strike that risked major disruptions across the United States, with freight workers securing a key demand. Pandemic pressures, including those that scrambled supply chains, worked in freight workers’ favor, logistics experts said. A rail strike would dent many industries, as about 40% of goods that are shipped long-distance rely on the nation’s rail system. Rail workers often are on-call 24/7 year-round and are allotted time off only after being called to a number of consecutive on-call shifts. A labor union source told NBC News that getting rail carriers to negotiate on attendance policies was a major breakthrough.
