They registered their tequila brand, Pimantae, while working full-time jobs in 2021. They decided to pursue angel investors and used a pitch deck they made on Canva. They considered crowdfunding and venture capital as financing options, but settled on approaching angel investors. With their first investor locked in, other investors started expressing interest. They closed their pre-seed round in September 2022 having raised £545,000, or around $675,000, between 13 angel investors and Distill Ventures — far exceeding their original £250,000 goal.

She aims to get eight hours of sleep a night and lists three nonnegotiable things to do each day. I usually write my to-do table once I've sat down in the office or at my desk. For me, creating a productive morning routine is about understanding when I work best and when I find it hard to work. I know I need to tackle work that requires more concentration at the start of my day. Understanding that I need that space between deep work and calls or administrative tasks is important to staying productive throughout the day.
Beverley walks Insider through the deck she used to close the brand's $5.7 million seed round. "You're looking at £80-plus usually for a pair of leggings, and that just seemed insane to me," Beverley told Insider. Beverley told Insider that she originally launched Tala by partnering with a company that owned a sustainability-focused factory in Portugal. "It just seemed like the perfect time to get the most exciting people and the most experienced people around the table," she told Insider. Beverley walked Insider through the pitch deck she used to secure $5.7 million in her first round of funding, co-led by Active Partners and Venrex.
