GOA, India, July 21 (Reuters) - Current actions by OPEC+ to support the oil market are sufficient for now, UAE Energy Minister Suhail al-Mazrouei said on Friday, and the group is "only a phone call away" if any further steps are needed. "What we are doing is sufficient as we say today," the UAE minister told Reuters in Goa, India, where he is attending G20 energy ministerial meetings. The next OPEC+ policy meeting is not until November, although a panel of key ministers, the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, holds an online meeting on Aug. 4 to review the market. The UAE minister said he was not worried about oil demand and described limited investment as the "biggest challenge." The UAE is among the few OPEC members with sizeable unused oil production capacity.

India, as current holder of the G20 presidency, took a neutral stand on the issue, said the sources - two of whom attended the G20 meeting. One of those sources said Russia and Saudi Arabia declined to accept targets on increasing non-fossil capacity or deadlines to add renewable energy on the grounds natural gas is a critical part of their energy mix. Some members sought for the phrase "low-carbon hydrogen" to be adopted, rather than "green hydrogen," the sources said. While green hydrogen is produced using renewable energy, "low-carbon hydrogen" could include hydrogen produced using gas, which is less carbon intensive than coal.

Putin spoke to Modi in a call last week to discuss the aftermath of the quashed mercenary mutiny. The summit on Tuesday will also see Modi sharing the virtual stage with Xi for the first time since November when the two leaders were present for the G20 summit in Indonesia. It will also bring Modi face to face online with his Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz Sharif, 10 months after they both attended the SCO summit in Uzbekistan. New Delhi announced last month that the summit will be held virtually, without providing any justification.
