A clip of a weather forecast aired by a German TV station was digitally altered to include graphics of flames and siren noises and shared online alongside remarks suggesting that the station was being alarmist about hot weather.
One of the posts with the altered video included the comment: “Meanwhile, in Germany, they’ve got flames on the screen for temperatures barely touching 30°C.
The clip was altered from the original, which aired without the flames or the added audio on the German ARD network’s news show Tagesthemen (tinyurl.com/yd3mbtr3).
