Movement of persons to polling stations is strictly monitoredThe police and the National Road Transport Agency are strictly monitoring the movement of persons to polling stations. Besides the regular passenger routes, the movement of units of transports with more than eight passengers is not allowed, IPN quoted deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Marin Maxian as saying in a press briefing. Marin Maxian noted that 23 alleged violations of the electoral process were reported by 11am. The General Police Inspectorate said any action to block the electoral process entails criminal liability. The police are examining all the reported violations.

Voters intimidated by persons who have no connection with electoral processA number of persons informed the police that while they stayed in a line to cast their ballots, they were intimidated by civilians or other persons why didn’t have connection with the electoral process, but stayed near polling stations, IPN reports. According to Marin Maxian, deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, the police are dealing with nine cases of campaigning, five cases of blocking of roads, with the last three happening in Varnița, Anenii Noi, where polling places were established for Transnistrian voters. The police also received 44 reports of illegal transportation of voters and four cases of reasonable suspicion of voter corruption. The police visited the medical institutions, but these turned out to be closed. By 3:30pm, the police recorded 105 reports of electoral violations.

Over 6,000 police officers to ensure proper conduct of runoff on November 15More than 6,000 employees of the General Police Inspectorate will make sure that the presidential runoff on November 15 take places appropriately, IPN quoted Sergiu Paiu, head of the General Police Inspectorate, as saying in a press briefing. “At national level, the police will engage over 6,000 employees so that they immediately deal with the reported cases and offenses during voting and ensure the smooth running of the whole process, until the ballots are transmitted to the district electrical councils. I warn the participants in elections that between 7am and 9pm, the employees of the GPI and ANTA will monitor the movement on the country’s territory of motor vehicles whose transportation capacity is larger than eight persons and the regular road passenger routes,” stated Sergiu Paiu. Marin Maxian, deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, called on the observers not to encourage the people to take illegal action. “Each citizen should understand that they will bear individual responsibility and there will be no collective responsibility and not the one who urged will be held accountable,” stated Marin Maxian, calling upon the people to inform the police whenever they see a violation of the legislation.

Cristian Rizea obtained Moldovan nationality legally, lawyersThe lawyers for businessman and politician Cristian Rizea deny the public reports that their client obtained the nationality of the Republic of Moldova illegally. Cristian Rizea presented all the requested documents and met all the conditions when filing the set of documents. Until there is a definitive decision in this regard, Cristian Rizea cannot be extradited. Cristian Rizea was convicted in Romania in his absence and is to serve a senesce based on a final decision of 2019. Cristian Rizea has reasons to believe that the warnings and threats over his public statements and the possibility of a sudden “natural death” can materialize.
