Let’s do that now, because here’s what I think we’ve been watching:A World Series with possibly eight future Hall of Famers. So no World Series is ever catching the 1932 Series, when an incredible 13 eventual Hall of Famers took the field. How about saying you were there when Freddie Freeman took over a World Series in his own Freddie-esque way? And it looks exactly like that dude who trots — or sometimes limps — out to first base every night in this World Series. • Easy as 1-2-3 — We’re three games into this World Series, and Freeman has homered in all three of those games.

The Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman became the first player in MLB history to record a home run in six straight World Series games when he cranked a two-run homer out of Yankee Stadium in Game 4 on Tuesday. AdvertisementThe hit, which gave the Dodgers an immediate 2-0 pad, was Freeman’s fourth of the 2024 World Series. His previous two World Series home runs came in Game 5 and Game 6 of the 2021 finals. He's the first player in MLB history with six consecutive #WorldSeries games with a home run. After taking the commanding 3-0 series lead on Monday, Freeman was told he tied the World Series record by homering in five consecutive games.

They applied more pressure early in Game 3, and now they’re a victory away from winning the World Series. Except when the fastball is playing like it did in the World Series on Monday night. In the first inning, Buehler started Judge with a fastball over the middle that he was late on. New York’s bats go silent once againThe Yankees’ offense has scored seven runs through the first three games of the World Series. The Yankees’ inability to hit the ball over the fence like the Dodgers have so far is one of the reasons they’re down 3-0 in the World Series.

Yamamoto, making his World Series debut Saturday night, allowed only one hit in 6 1/3 innings, a homer by Soto. If Ohtani misses time during the Series, the Dodgers can adjust by moving Betts to the leadoff spot and making Freeman their DH. After striking out 10 times in 22 plate appearances in the Division Series, Ohtani broke out in the National League Championship Series, batting .364 with a 1.185 OPS. Fury also noted this isn't the first time South Dakota has rejected federal spending. Bipartisan legislation to create an energy rebate program had existed almost a decade earlier, like the Home Star Energy Retrofit Act in 2010. Ron DeSantis in 2023 had vetoed the state's authority to spend about $5 million of federal funds to administer the energy rebate program.

The Summary Many young climate advocates see Kamala Harris as stronger on environmental issues than Joe Biden. President Joe Biden may have passed the United States’ most significant climate legislation ever, but many young environmental activists say they see Kamala Harris as stronger on the issue. But several young climate activists ages 16 to 29 said for them, the expansion of the fossil fuel industry during Biden’s presidency has clouded those successes. Harris’ young supporters have highlighted the settlements she secured as California attorney general with Chevron, BP and ConocoPhillips over their handling of hazardous materials. Sunrise Movement protesters gather near Vice President Harris' Brentwood home on April 14, calling on her to urge President Biden to declare a climate emergency.

The multiple exceeds 9 and approaches 12 in the hottest markets, rendering them "impossibly unaffordable," per a recent study. That's according to "The State of the Nation's Housing 2024" report published by Harvard University this week. Only 6.6 million — fewer than 15% — of the 45 million renter households in the US make enough to afford the median payment. Indeed, the Harvard study found that 23% of homeowner households were "stretched worryingly thin," and more than a quarter of renters were paying at least half their incomes toward housing and utilities in 2022. Many homeowners are seeing their incomes squeezed by steeper prices and interest payments, and many renters have given up on buying a home.

This is the first SAG Awards since last year’s prolonged actors’ strike in Hollywood – a fact that was brought up several times throughout the evening – and is also the last major entertainment awards event before next month’s Oscars ceremony.

How Qatar swayed Israel and Hamas to make a truce work

It was necessary to clarify all the points in the agreement and make sure they meant the same thing to Israel and Hamas, a source briefed on the negotiations said. Qatar's foreign ministry told reporters that Hamas and Israel negotiated in Doha until "the early morning" of Nov. 23 and agreed on a plan to implement the truce deal the next day. Qatari negotiators shepherded Israel and Hamas to agree on exactly where in Gaza Israeli tanks would be stationed during the truce. Israel vets all financial transfers Qatar makes to Palestinians in Gaza, Qatari sources have said. Despite proximity to Hamas officials, Qatari negotiators did not speak directly to the group's leaders in Gaza, but through its representatives based in Doha.

In a new study, Gauthier was surgically implanted with an experimental spinal cord neuroprosthesis to correct walking disorders in people with Parkinson’s disease. Marc Gauthier, 63, who has Parkinson's disease, was treated with a spinal cord neuroprosthesis for his locomotor symptoms. Then, Gauthier was invited to participate in the new study to test the experimental spinal cord neuroprosthesis. Next, they implanted an array of electrodes against the lower region of Gauthier’s spinal cord to target those zones. “With this spinal cord stimulation, we still have an effect, but we have to fight against worse and more severe symptoms,” Bloch said.
