“It’s definitely a [mining] renaissance,” said Rebecca Campbell, global mining and metals lead at law firm White & Case. “We’re trying to foster a permitting landscape that is both efficient and responsible.”In Europe, the mining renaissance comes after years of nearly no new mining activity on the continent. Savannah Resources, which has set up two offices in the municipality, has said it would strictly avoid that and instead build reservoirs to store rain water. That view is echoed by Savannah Resources.

Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsAug 10 (Reuters) - Andy Murray said he hopes world number one Carlos Alcaraz can follow his instincts and continue playing tennis with freedom and fearlessness, even if that approach appears a bit "kamikaze" at times. I just hope he doesn't lose that," Murray said on the ATP website during the Canadian Open. "I asked Ferrero, 'Does he love tennis? Murray said, adding that former world number one Ferrero assured him Alcaraz was "really good with that stuff". Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsAug 5 (Reuters) - World number nine Taylor Fritz said climate activists need to find a better way of protesting instead of "annoying" sports fans by interrupting events, after his Washington Open match against Andy Murray was briefly halted on Friday. "I get they're protesting, but there's just got to be a better way to do it," Fritz told reporters. I jokingly said, 'Honestly, this makes me want to go fly on jets more'," Fritz said with a smile. "I think they're supporting a good cause, but the way they're doing it... Who's going to want to listen when they're just annoying everybody?" Fritz returned in the evening to seal a 6-3 6-3 victory over Jordan Thompson to storm into the semi-finals, where he takes on Tallon Griekspoor.

Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsLOS ANGELES, Aug 4 (Reuters) - American Taylor Fritz won an entertaining three-hour battle against Andy Murray 6-7(2) 6-3 6-4 in their rain-delayed match on Friday in Washington DC and will face Jordan Thompson in the quarter-finals in the evening session. In the tight third set, Fritz took advantage of a sloppy service game from Murray to arrive on the doorstep of victory at 5-4. But Murray was not done and threatened to level when he jumped ahead 0-40 in the next game. Fritz, who crushed 17 aces, managed to serve his way out of trouble and hit a lovely lunging volley to set up match point, which he converted with a cross-court forehand winner.
