“The Whopper”, a product from global fast food chain Burger King, carries the same name in France, despite online posts sharing an image of the burger’s wrapper purportedly in a French location of the chain with the title “Americain Retardé”. A Burger King spokesperson said the photo did not show a genuine Burger King product. Reuters found no evidence the product carries the name in the video in France. French Burger King menus list the burger with the name “Whopper” (www.burgerking.fr/carte/menus). The Burger King Whopper burger does not carry an offensive slogan in France.
