A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket with the Crew Dragon Resilience capsule, carrying the crew of the Polaris Dawn Mission. SpaceX's Polaris Dawn mission launched on Tuesday from Florida on a Falcon 9 rocket, which carried the Dragon capsule "Resilience" into orbit. As a centerpiece to the mission, the crew will attempt to perform the first-ever SpaceX spacewalk. In addition to the spacewalk, Polaris Dawn plans to conduct about 40 science and research experiments during the mission. Polaris Dawn represents SpaceX's 14th crewed mission to date, and its fifth private human spaceflight.

To that end, CNBC Pro used FactSet data to screen the S & P 1500 utilities sector, looking for companies that meet the following criteria. A total return – the stock price plus the value of reinvested dividends – of at least 10% in 2024. The stock offers a dividend yield of 3.0% and has a 2024 total return of nearly 23%. Year to date, the stock has a total return of nearly 38%, and it offers a dividend yield of 2.5%.

Sales of ultra-luxury homes surged in New York, Miami and Palm Beach, Florida, in the second quarter, even as they fell in much of the rest of the world, according to a new report. The number of homes that sold for $10 million or more in the second quarter jumped 44% in Palm Beach, 27% in Miami and 16% in New York, according to a report from real estate firm Knight Frank. New York led the U.S. in $10 million-plus sales, with 72, its highest total in two years, according to the report. Miami came in second with 55, followed by Los Angeles with 42 and Palm Beach with 36. In June, a historic 3.2-acre estate in Palm Beach sold for $148 million, while in Manhattan, the penthouse of the Aman New York was sold for $135 million in July.
