Visitor cap coming in 2025Santorini Mayor Nikos Zorzos has proposed a cap on cruise ship passengers, down to 8,000 a day. Currently, nearly two-thirds of cruise tourism in Greece takes place in Piraeus, Santorini and Mykonos, CLIA said.

Shares of Dell Technologies fell more than 16% Friday after investors were discouraged by the company's lower-than-expected artificial intelligence server backlog and an estimated decline in margins. Bernstein analysts said the "principle disappointment" in Dell's results was that operating margins for its Infrastructure Solutions Group compressed year over year. Additionally, operating profits were flat compared with the same period last year, even though the company brought in around $1.7 billion in incremental AI server revenues. The analysts said this resurfaced concerns that Dell's AI servers are being sold at "near-zero margins." Bank of America analysts said Dell reported a strong quarter, and they reiterated their buy rating on the stock.

The fallout is a rare chink in Lopez Obrador's formidable popularity, steadily above 60% throughout his term. The pricing issue is urgent as northern corn farmers are harvesting now, many with nowhere to sell without taking a loss. It is not the first time that tensions have heated up between this administration and the agriculture sector. Valdez estimated that commercial agriculture producers represent about 10 million votes. Farmers argue Lopez Obrador's government has eliminated important sector benefits, including loans at beneficial interest rates, which his administration says too often fell into arrears.

AT&T shares fell Thursday after the telecommunications giant reported first-quarter results that saw subscriber growth but a miss on revenue. The company added 424,000 postpaid phone plans, which represents the amount of businesses and individual consumers that pay their bills at the end of each month. In the year earlier period, AT&T added 691,000 postpaid phone subscribers. Investors look to postpaid phone numbers to measure the overall well-being of wireless companies' profit centers. During the company's previous earnings call, AT&T executives said they expect wireless industry growth to return to "normalized" levels this year.

"This new generation of high ambition targets can enable a cleaner greener food and agriculture sector," said Eric Usher, Head of the U.N. Environment Programme Finance Initiative, which helped convene the group and approved the targets as ambitious. Ahead of the COP27 global climate talks in Egypt in November, investors are increasingly focusing on links between a healthy food system and efforts to fight global warming and preserve biodiversity. "The wider finance sector must use COP27 to supersize its ambition and grow a more sustainable food and agriculture sector," Usher said. "Identifying what a state-of-the-art, credible target to finance sustainable food and agriculture looks like is a vital part of addressing the urgent climate and food crises," said Wiebe Draijer, co-chair of the Good Food Finance Network and former CEO from Rabobank.
Less visible, though just as much the lifeblood of the firm, are Merrill's client associates. But we're not treated that way, and we're not stupid," an associate who recently left the firm said. "Our client associates are essential to the fabric of the firm, how we serve clients and grow," a company representative said. Yagyaev said client associates were "grossly underpaid" across the industry and their base should really be in the area of $80,000 to $90,000. An advisor who recently left Merrill and worked with CAs said some were leaving for raises of about $30,000 to work at other banks.
