Ollolai, a village on the Italian island of Sardinia, is offering $1 homes and several other schemes to attract American expats. The rural Italian village has been selling dilapidated houses for as little as one euro since 2018, and after the 2024 U.S. presidential election, it launched a website offering up even more cheap homes. Ollolai's mayor, Francesco Columbu, told CNN the website was created to lure Americans after the 2024 presidential elections. "We have specifically created this website now to meet U.S. post-elections relocation needs. The first edition of our digital nomad scheme, which launched last year, was already solely for Americans," he added.

Both the exit polls and VoteCast showed her winning 57% of white women with at least a four-year college degree. Solid majorities of Black, Latina and college-educated White women described Trump in the exit poll as “too extreme,” as did over two-fifths of the White women without a college degree. But among the White women without a college degree who described Trump as “too extreme,” almost 1 in 5 voted for him anyway. Though many women are expressing unease about mass deportation, Trump’s claim that immigrants are driving crime may provide him considerable leeway to pursue his agenda, particularly among the blue-collar White women who proved most receptive to that argument.

People try to clear mud from a house on October 31, 2024 after flash floods affected La Torre, in Valencia, eastern Spain. Spain’s AEMET weather center in Valencia warned of heavy rainfall at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, raising the alert level to red in some areas and warning residents to stay off the roads in case of floods. It was at 8 p.m. that cell phones finally buzzed with the public alert telling residents to stay indoors.
