Shares of Trump Media closed down 6.6% on Tuesday, ending the day at $16.14 a share. Last week, Trump said he would not sell his 114,750,000 shares of the Truth Social owner. "I have absolutely no intention of selling," Trump said at a press conference in California on Friday. The effect on Trump Media stock of the weekend threat to Trump was the opposite of how shares responded to the first assassination attempt on Trump in July. On July 15, the first trading day after the attempt, Trump Media shares closed up more than 30%.

The monthslong Trump Media stock slide continued Wednesday, as shares of the company majority-owned by former President Donald Trump fell below $20 for the first time since the Truth Social maker went public more than five months ago. A Trump Media spokesperson did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment on the stock's latest dive. If he does sell — or if he even appears likely to — investors could lose confidence in Trump Media, a situation the company's own regulatory filings have acknowledged. But the company has noted that its fledgling social media platform, Truth Social, depends at least partly on Trump's enduring popularity and reputation.

FRANKFURT, July 29 (Reuters) - Novo Nordisk has launched blockbuster weight-loss drug Wegovy in Germany, its first big European market, hoping Germans will pay hundreds of euros out of pocket for a drug that public health insurance plans are so far barred from covering. The Danish drugmaker's share price has more than doubled in the two years since the drug debuted, turning Novo (NOVOb.CO) into Europe's second-most-valuable listed company after LVMH. Among major providers, Allianz (ALVG.DE) says it will pay if a physician diagnoses a medical need, while Debeka said its plans exclude weight-loss treatments. Novo is ramping up production to meet soaring demand in the United States, where the drug sells for as much as $1,350 a month. Doctors say many Germans seeking to lose weight have already used Ozempic, a diabetes drug also made by Novo that is a lower dose version of the same ingredient as Wegovy.
