The communication breakdown happens as the social platforms launched in the 2000s have taken on larger lives than anyone anticipated. The candid nature of group chats gives them value and tethers people with looser connections together, but that can also make them unwieldy. Group chats can languish for years; there's no playbook for leaving or kicking out someone who's no longer close to the core group. If a couple breaks up, who gets the group chat? But his group chat might still have the best vibes of all.

Over on the Facebook Group "New Jersey Mystery Drones — let's solve it," which has more than 73,000 members, there's a sharp sense of disillusionment with the local and national government response. cosmin4000/Getty ImagesWhat we know about the apparent drones, so far, is that officials seem to agree that it's neither of those threats. My husband and I moved from Hamburg, Germany to a small Italian town in August. The town offers homes for 1 euro and we were worried about the poor reputation these places have. Secure messaging apps use end-to-end encryption to protect communications from hackers, surveillance and unauthorized access, so even messaging app providers can't read your messages. There are also paid messaging apps that are end-to-end encrypted, such as Threema. For example, RCS messages using Google Messages are automatically upgraded to end-to-end encryption, but Apple's implementation of RCS on iPhones is not end-to-end encrypted, Horwitz said. For example, Facebook Messenger offers end-to-end encrypted messages, but not in all cases. The app supports end-to-end encryption when messaging other users using Google Messages over RCS, according to the company.

Powerful images have emerged showing Syrians, including women and children, being freed from prisons across the country after the toppling of President Bashar Al-Assad. The White Helmets rescue organization said it had deployed five specialized emergency teams to search for prison cells believed to be hidden underground at the notorious prison, citing survivors' accounts. Footage appears to show a child being liberated from a prison cell in Syria in footage captured after the fall of Assad's regime. People could also be seen toppling statues of Assad's father Hafez al-in cities across Syria, including in the Assad stronghold of Latakia. President Joe Biden described this as “a moment of risk and uncertainty,” as leaders from around the world expressed hopes for stability in the wake of Assad’s toppling.

Four months ago, I went in to see my primary care doctor because my menstrual bleeding was abnormal. There, I learned the basics about cramps, the difference between pads and tampons, and the non-stop fun that awaited me with my changing body.
