As much as 43% to 49% of total containerized goods entering the U.S are processed through ports on the East Coast and Gulf Coast. Michael Kanko, CEO of ImportGenius, tells CNBC the economic importance of the ports impacted by an ILA strike is profound. Approximately 50,000 ILA union members work at the ports of Boston, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, New Orleans, Mobile, and Houston. UBS forecast that 20% of Maersk's total volume would touch a U.S. port that would be impacted by the strike. Chinese consumers are opting for affordable alternatives across various categories to save money. The trend, known as pingti, is driven by economic challenges and is popular among young people. Consumers are finding cheaper substitutes for luxury goods, everyday items, and even healthcare. It's now become a trend in China to save on nearly every consumer category, from luxury goods to everyday consumables to travel, with cheaper substitutes. A Bank of America survey of 1,052 adult Chinese consumers showed weakening consumer sentiment, with 30% of respondents planning to spend more — down from 45% in June.

Trivariate Research is laying out some U.S. companies that could win big in China's latest stimulus deal. Last week, China's central bank released a raft of support measures to help stimulate economic growth and boost a struggling real estate market in the second-largest economy in the world. "We see the China stimulus as an incremental positive to risk-taking," wrote Trivariate founder Adam Parker in a note to clients. Trivariate is not the only firm that views commodity stocks as potential beneficiaries, with Morgan Stanley recently naming Freeport in its shopping list for commodity stocks. Gaming stocks could also win big with China's stimulus deal.

While expectations are high and caution is certainly warranted, we don't think it's quite that simple. While the Oscillator and Williams' work do point to possible selling pressure ahead, we don't want to get too bearish. However, we don't think the risks are so elevated as to warrant more than a small cash raise. We still view Nvidia as an "own it, don't trade it" stock, but we also don't keep our heads in the sand. Top rock refers to moves done while standing, such as a Crossover Step or an Outlaw Two-Step, while down rock refers to the moves done on the floor that we commonly associate with this style of dance. "It adds this element of surprise because the thing is, we don't even know what's going to happen, so how could the audience know what's going to happen?" Choi said breaking is also different from other sports because it doesn't have "a traditional history of having coaches."

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday suggested that the market is being brought down by some companies with business in China. "If you own stock in a company that expanded heavily into China, it's being killed right now," he said. But he said companies that rely on China for growth are having a particularly tough time on the market. He listed several companies whose business in China is lagging, including Procter & Gamble , Estee Lauder , Nike and Starbucks . According to Cramer, a reason smaller cap stocks are doing well is because, for the most part, they don't do a lot of business with China.
