Trump’s campaign said before the debate that he had already accepted debate invitations from Fox News and NBC News, and that Harris had not. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trump said he would participate in debates with NBC News or Fox News. Fresh off the perceived win, pushing Harris into several debates seemed like a strategic goal for Trump, and Harris rebuffed a request for one on Fox News in early September. Harris has not accepted a second debate with Trump, but her campaign appeared more open on Wednesday. “But the most important indication here is that Harris failed to explain why she hasn’t already done the things she claims she cares about.

He fought hard in state after state, even as the front-runner amassed a delegate advantage that would be virtually impossible to overcome. Haley decided to skip Nevada’s presidential caucuses next Thursday in favor of a state primary election two days earlier that does not award delegates. Trump could embarrass Haley in her home state of South Carolina later in the month, where the former president has a loyal following. In New Hampshire's recent primary, for example, Trump won a decisive victory against Haley backed by his popularity among traditional Republican voters. The Haley campaign has already rolled out leadership teams and “Women for Nikki” chapters in all 15 Super Tuesday states.

Former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley is facing pressure from some of her top fundraisers to either seriously compete with, or outright defeat, Donald Trump in next week's New Hampshire primary, after finishing third Monday in the Iowa caucus. Levine is also the co-host of a Haley fundraising event scheduled for after the New Hampshire primary. He told CNBC he isn't worried about poor attendance, as long as she has a strong showing in the Granite State. In order to keep many of her more affluent donors engaged, Haley must get within three percentage points of Trump in New Hampshire, said a Republican fundraising advisor whose clients include Haley donors. Some Haley donors have already lost hope.

Home Depot co-founder and billionaire Ken Langone plans to meet with former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley next week in New York, as he considers backing her in the Republican presidential primary. "The only person I see who can give [Donald] Trump a run for his money is Nikki Haley," Langone told CNBC in an interview Monday, referring to the former president and current Republican frontrunner. Before Langone would commit to hosting his own fundraiser for Haley, however, he said he wanted to meet with her in person. As Nikki Haley has risen in polls, so has her viability among top political donors, per The Times. Some donors are describing Haley's candidacy as one that's creating enthusiasm among party leaders. GOP donor Eric Levine told The Times that Trump's air of inevitability has "peeled away completely." I would certainly like her over Trump," Langone, who's donated to Haley's campaign, told the newspaper. "His aura of invincibility is just peeled away completely," Levine said, pointing to Haley's polling surge among GOP voters.

Mr. Bush, a Republican who voted for Mr. Biden in 2020 and for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, in 2016, said he had been struck by her knowledge and poise. Several donors and advisers described two groups taking shape among the major, top-dollar donors:First, those who have yielded to the likelihood that Mr. Trump, however they may feel about him, will probably be the nominee, and have decided to stop funding potential alternatives. Second, those who believe that with enough financial resources and a savvy field operation, Ms. Haley could unseat him. Despite the long odds, her financial supporters say they see a path to victory. “They now believe he can be stopped,” he said, pointing to Ms. Haley’s steady climb in the polls.

Billionaire Citadel CEO Ken Griffin is "actively contemplating" financially supporting former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley in the Republican primary for president. Yes or no," Griffin said in an interview Tuesday with Bloomberg TV, when asked whether he planned to financially support Haley. Griffin is the latest of several wealthy, Republican donors who have said in recent days that they plan to support Haley over Trump and the rest of the primary field. But on Monday he told CNBC that following Scott's announcement, he planned to support Haley exclusively from now on. Until Sunday, Sabin had been fundraising for Scott's primary effort.

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) speaks at the third Republican candidates' U.S. presidential debate of the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign hosted by NBC News at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida, U.S., November 8, 2023. Senator Tim Scott suspended his run for the 2024 Republican presidential election nomination on Sunday after months of burning through campaign cash at a blistering rate without making a significant dent in national opinion polls. "I think the voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet, have been really clear that they're telling me: 'Not now Tim,'" Scott told Fox News in an interview on Sunday evening. The lone Black Republican in the U.S. Senate, Scott began his campaign in May, promising to present an optimistic, forward-looking vision for America. At the same time, Scott's finances began to deteriorate, an ominous sign for any presidential campaign.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The Republican Party’s once-crowded 2024 presidential primary field has suddenly shrunk to just a handful of viable candidates. Instead, the fight between Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis for a distant second place appears to be intensifying. Political Cartoons View All 1244 Images“Now I’m hoping the field clears and it’s Nikki Haley one-on-one with the former president,” Druckenmillier told The Associated Press. Scott entered the 2024 campaign to much anticipation — especially in Iowa — as a close friend to Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst and a devoted evangelical Christian. And his modest share of support in late-summer Iowa polls shrunk by late fall as DeSantis and Haley appeared more viable.

The New York hedge fund executive instead spoke highly of Haley's Republican rivals as well, naming Florida Gov. A Des Moines Register poll published Monday shows Haley tied with DeSantis for second in Iowa, which hold the first-in-the-nation GOP caucuses on Jan. 15. Haley and DeSantis are in an increasingly expensive battle against each other as they head into the third Republican primary debate next week. Neither Haley nor DeSantis is currently devoting any advertising dollars to criticizing Trump. She has won over new donors in recent weeks, including former Illinois Gov.

LAS VEGAS, Oct 28 (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential candidates including frontrunner Donald Trump will address major Republican Jewish donors in Las Vegas on Saturday at a gathering that will seek their unequivocal commitment to wiping out Palestinian Hamas militants. A pro-DeSantis super PAC has attacked Haley on the Israel front, claiming she supports resettling refugees from Gaza in the United States. The RJC's Brooks said he was sure Trump would show "further commitment" to Israel on Saturday. To be sure, Israel is unlikely to be an election-defining issue and Republican voters are warier of foreign conflicts. "The growing isolationist movement in our party is dangerous," said Levine, who is supporting Senator Tim Scott and also likes Haley.

Security has been tightened and seats added to accommodate a wave of new attendees who decided to come after the Oct. 7 attacks. Speakers at the Las Vegas gathering will also include Senator John Thune, the second-ranking Senate Republican; Gov. Mr. DeSantis and Mr. Scott strongly denounced those remarks, and Mr. Trump spent several days walking them back. He also cut aid for Palestinians, and his administration took steps to designate a campaign to boycott Israel as antisemitic. Hobbs said he brought it up nonstop, even in front of others, which irked Youngkin. Should he decide to make the leap after next month's elections, a potential campaign would face significant logistical hurdles. Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, though Rexrode and others working for Youngkin's PAC have years of national political experience. Kevin Lamarque | ReutersThe messy race to elect the next Republican speaker of the House of Representatives is injecting chaos into the typically genteel world of high-dollar GOP fundraising, threatening to disrupt a vital element of the Republican strategy to maintain its House majority. One faction of wealthy donors is intent on exacting revenge on the eight Republicans who voted with Democrats to oust former speaker Kevin McCarthy, according to people familiar with the matter. They're all saying, 'don't give, don't raise any money,'" a Republican fundraiser said. "If you have scheduled a fundraiser for any Republican House member who refuses to vote for Scalise, cancel it. Losing Kevin McCarthy will be damaging for fundraising," a longtime Wall Street Republican fundraiser said.

A Washington Post/FiveThirtyEight/Ipsos survey of Republicans after the debate showed that only 4 percent believed Mr. Scott had won, placing him toward the back of the pack. The day after the debate, he garnered only 3 percent of the candidate searches, which can be a metric of voter interest. Eric Levine, a New York lawyer and Republican donor who attended the debate as a guest of Mr. Scott’s campaign, said he believed the senator had won by staying above the fray. “Very few questions were actually asked of Tim Scott. “Tim Scott is built for this race,” Ms. Gitcho said.

His name was actually Sam Miele, and he worked for Santos raising money for his campaign, according to one GOP donor who contributed to Santos' campaign. In raising money for his campaign, Santos fed donors the same falsehoods he gave voters, campaign fundraisers and others say. "We were duped," said a Republican political strategist close to GOP donors and the leadership of the Republican Jewish Coalition. The RJC is considered the most prominent group of Jewish Republican donors, making gatherings such as the Hanukkah event key networking platforms for politicians. Vallone gave $17,900 in August between Santos' campaign, his leadership PAC and a joint fundraising committee, according to FEC records.
"Donald Trump is the only Republican that would lose" in 2024, he said. Trump launched a fresh campaign for the Republican nomination on Tuesday, before the final midterm votes have even been tallied. "We have to stay strong and we have to fight and frankly, you better hope a certain person wins the election in 2024," Trump said to cheers. The man who could pose the largest threat to Trump, DeSantis, also received a fervent response as the final featured speaker on Saturday night. Trump's false claims that the 2020 election was fraudulent had "diminished" the party, he said.
Sabin contributed $55,000 this year to a pro-DeSantis PAC, Friends of Ron DeSantis, which supported the Florida governor's successful bid for reelection, according to state campaign finance records. Trump, meanwhile, has scheduled a primetime announcement Tuesday night, heavily hinting that it will be his presidential campaign launch. Trump also endorsed dozens of winning House candidates, but many of those Republicans were in firmly red districts without a serious competitor. Ross hosted a fundraiser for Trump at his Hamptons home in 2019 to raise money for Trump's campaign and the Republican National Committee. While Levine didn't personally donate to Trump's races, he helped raise campaign cash for several other candidates Trump endorsed in the last cycle.
Eric LeVine lives in a 7,000-square-foot Foursquare Craftsman home in Seattle that was built in 1912. In 2007, he completed a 2,000-square-foot addition that included a garage, a home theater, a sunroom and a deck. Mr. Levine, founder and chief executive officer of CellarTracker, a website and app for cataloging wine collections, and an avid wine connoisseur, also built two subterranean wine cellars as part of the addition. With 500 square feet of space, the cellars can hold 8,000 bottles, although his personal collection currently consists of 3,200. “Having a nice, purpose-built cellar, either a showpiece cellar or a more functional cellar, is the single best thing that will preserve your collection.”
