The S & P 500 made a new record high, its 25 th of the year. And on the surface, there is a stolid calm that suggests a system in comfortable equilibrium, the market achieving a kind of homeostasis. Four of the past five days last week, the S & P 500 moved less than 0.2%. The S & P 500 is up almost 2% since its closing peak at the end of the first quarter, perhaps the moment of maximum belief in a seamless soft economic landing. Three stocks together now account for fully 20% of the S & P 500 market value, mocking the notion of diversification and dashing most active investors' hopes of beating the bogey.

Even as the market rallies, the latest short interest data reveals several stocks that could see losses. CNBC Pro screened FactSet data for stocks trading on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Exchange with the most short interest as of Jan. 12. Lucid Group , another EV maker, saw short interest increase to about 29% of its float. Companies that make auto parts, including Luminar Technologies and Atmus Filtration , also saw short interest increase. Started in 1917, “Dame mit Fächer” is rendered in Klimt’s characteristically rich, expressive style. Sotheby's said it expects the painting the fetch "in the region of" $80 million when it goes under the hammer this month. Klimt’s “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I” was meanwhile bought by US businessman Ronald Lauder for a reported $135 million in 2006. “Dame mit Fächer” is the star lot in Sotheby’s modern and contemporary art summer auction, which takes place on June 27.
