Colorado-based AtmosZero, launched in 2022, has developed a drop-in replacement for fossil fuel boilers that are used to produce steam. Steam is used in a variety of industrial processes, from beer to papermaking, and in district heating. Most steam applications need temperatures of between 100 degrees Celsius to 225 degrees Celsius, Salvi said.
