Learn more about the dark saga of Sante and Kenneth Kimes in the latest episode of “How It Really Happened,” airing Sunday at 10 p.m. As investigators dug deeper they learned that “Manny Guerrin,” the name Kenneth Kimes gave Silverman when he rented the apartment, did not exist. In a 2000 interview with CNN’s Larry King, Sante Kimes called their arrest a witch hunt, saying they were victims of mistaken identity. Kenneth Kimes Sr. pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, but Sante Kimes went to prison in 1985. When he or other people called for Kenneth Sr., Sante Kimes would say he was traveling, in the shower or had laryngitis, he said.

But on Saturday, at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles, Kardashian debuted another cultural artifact — a diamond-lined cross pendant, once a favorite of Princess Diana. Alberto E. Rodriguez/WireImage/Getty ImagesKardashian bought the piece for £163,800 (around $212,000) in January 2023 during the final five minutes of a Sotheby’s auction. Her red carpet appearance over the weekend marked the first time the necklace has been worn in public since Diana’s death in 1997. Kardashian styled the necklace differently, shortening the pearl chain significantly, and wearing it alongside a stack of jewels, including a six-strand pearl choker. “Why are we still giving this woman precious heirlooms like Diana’s necklace after she broke Marilyn’s dress,” wrote one commenter on Instagram.

(Trump himself has tried to distance himself from Project 2025 but many of his policies and goals overlap.) “Honestly, the Trump administration was often sloppy in the way they rolled out these executive orders, including the first Muslim travel ban,” Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson told CNN, referring to the Trump ban on migrants from several Muslim-majority countries that was the target of one of nearly 100 lawsuits brought by the Evergreen State against the Trump administration. “This time around, Project 2025 provides a very thorough overview over the issues in which a leading conservative organization, like the Heritage Foundation, is likely to push the Trump administration,” Romero said. Part of the Project 2025 effort has been to collect and vet thousands of potential staffers to serve up and down the federal bureaucracy of a future Trump administration. The ACLU, meanwhile, has been rolling out a series of analyses of possible legal and legislative responses to potential Trump policies.

Read preview"You look like Clara Bow in this light" is how Taylor Swift begins the closing track of the standard edition of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which was released on Friday. But beyond what she's been told by others, by naming the song "Clara Bow," Swift appears to be signaling an affinity with the original "It" girl whose career reached its apex almost a century ago. Ultimately, for Sisneros and Bell, Swift's immortalization of their great-grandmother in "Clara Bow" is a gift they can hand down to future generations. A sex symbol is a heavy load to carry when one is tired, hurt, and bewildered," Bow is quoted as saying in Stenn's biography, "Clara Bow: Runnin' Wild." What’s So Funny About a Naked Man?
  + stars: | 2024-03-10 | by ( Rhonda Garelick | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +2 min
John Cena’s ‘streaker manqué” routine at the Oscars was pretty funny. And soon, an entirely naked, and remarkably buff, Mr. Cena came onstage to introduce the Best Costume Design, nervously grasping the sealed Oscar envelope over his genitals, as a makeshift fig leaf. Then, in a bit of television magic, he was draped in a toga-like, one-shouldered robe with a tasseled rope belt. An exactingly chiseled, naked male body onstage is only funny because it is unexpected — because, that is, it does not belong to a woman. Seeing a naked woman on stage at the Oscars could never be funny, simply because it’s the norm to see female bodies in various states of revealing dress on the red carpet, and in movies as well.

Think of the actors Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who were married to each other twice — first for a decade beginning in 1964, and then again in 1975 before they divorced the next year. The celebrity TV justice Judith Sheindlin, better known as Judge Judy, married Jerry Sheindlin in 1977. They divorced in 1990 and then remarried in 1991. The singer and actress Marie Osmond and the motivational speaker Steve Craig were first married in 1982 and divorced in 1985. Ms. Osmond told People Magazine in 2019, “The thing about a second marriage is that you realize things you thought were so important aren’t.”

CNN —The iconic tulle tutu worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the opening credits of “Sex and the City” proved a star lot in an auction of “iconic” fashion pieces from film, TV and celebrity wardrobes on Thursday, selling for $52,000, more than four times its high estimate. The oyster-white, three-tier tutu skirt was expected to sell for $8,000-12,000, but drew 24 bids during a sale by Julien’s Auctions in California. The tutu “became a pop culture symbol,” according to the auction house, after Parker wore it in her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the smash-hit HBO TV series. The tutu also made an appearance in the 2008 “Sex and the City” movie, in a scene in which Carrie is clearing out her closet and deciding whether to keep certain outfits. The piece was sold with a certificate of authenticity signed by Field.

Playing with Eureka makes her melancholy, because “animals having fun can be a poignant spectacle — I suppose partly because it narrows the gap between us and them.”I can do without animals, most of the time, in novels. “When men appear in fiction now,” she writes, “it’s usually to be criticized or denounced for something. I’m going on a two-week hiking trip in August and am trying to figure out what to pack. We’re limited to about 33 pounds, so I need to pack light. I’d love to put together a wardrobe that’s practical, chic and wearable beyond the trip. The capsule holiday wardrobe is the holy grail of travel: an interchangeable, efficient system of dressing that in an ideal world necessitates no more than a tote and a bag that will fit in an airplane overhead bin. The weight of stuff falls from your shoulders, as does the time spent deciding what to wear.

“The classicist who wants to be modern, meeting the modernist who wants to be classical.” So says Elizabeth Taylor, summing up the fractious encounter between the revered Shakespearian actor John Gielgud, and her new husband, the actor Richard Burton. It’s 1964, Taylor and Burton are the most famous couple in the world, and Burton is rehearsing the role of Hamlet for a Broadway production that Gielgud is directing. It’s not going well. That’s the setting for “The Motive and the Cue,” a new play directed by Sam Mendes, written by Jack Thorne, and starring Mark Gatiss as Gielgud, Johnny Flynn as Burton and Tuppence Middleton as Taylor. The play, which opened to enthusiastic reviews in May and runs through July 15 at the National Theater, in London, was an idea born out of the pandemic, said Caro Newling, a co-founder with Mendes of Neal Street Productions, which developed the show.

CNN —Hundreds of jewels once owned by late Austrian billionaire Heidi Horten have fetched a combined 176 million Swiss francs ($196 million) to become the most expensive private jewelry collection ever to appear at auction. Heidi Horten pictured wearing the Briollete of India necklace, which sold for 6.3 million Swiss francs ($7 million). The most valuable lot, a ruby and diamond Cartier ring that is “pigeon blood” in color, fetched just over 13 million Swiss francs ($14.5 million), despite Christie’s expecting bids as high as 18 million Swiss francs ($20 million). A 90-carat “Briolette of India” diamond necklace by jeweler Harry Winston also came in below estimate, selling for 6.3 million Swiss francs ($7 million). courtesy Christie'sElsewhere, however, a Bulgari diamond ring more than doubled its high estimate to fetch 9.1 million Swiss francs ($10.1 million).
The collection, acquired between the early 1970s until Horten's death last year, is also comprised of more than 100 Bulgari pieces. "What's important is that we have been completely transparent," Rahul Kadakia, international head of jewellery at Christie's, told Reuters. Christie's said it would make a "significant contribution" from its final proceeds to Jewish organisations to advance Holocaust research and education. "Of course we cannot erase history," said Max Fawcett, head of the jewellery department at Christie's in Geneva. Christie's will auction 400 pieces in Geneva on Wednesday and Friday and hold an online sale.
