Cohen Private Ventures, the family office of Steve Cohen, announced on Thursday that Eli Manning, Derek Jeter, CC Sabathia, Michael Strahan, John McEnroe and Jimmy Fallon are joining the New York Golf Club's investor group as limited partners. Cohen, who also owns Major League Baseball's New York Mets, acquired the rights to the New York Golf team last September. TGL is the new primetime, high-tech golf league launched by Woods, McIlroy and Golf Channel executive Mike McCarley. Former New York Yankees star Jeter told CNBC he was drawn to the investment opportunity because it combines his passion for golf and his love of New York.

Investigators discovered that a low-level Israeli soldier had illegally removed Hamas documents from a military database and passed them to Eli Feldstein, a communications consultant working for Netanyahu, prosecutors said. Feldstein acted “with the intention of influencing public opinion in Israel on the negotiations regarding the hostages and in particular the issue of the contribution of the demonstrations to the strengthening of Hamas,” prosecutors said. Days after it was published, Netanyahu cited the article as evidence of Hamas’ intent “to use psychological warfare on the hostage families” and to put pressure on the Israeli government. The Israeli soldier accused of leaking the document to him has also been arrested, along with three other military personnel, prosecutors said. “For the past few days, my office has been under a wild and unrestrained attack,” Netanyahu said at the time.

But the decline in support for Ms. Harris in some of the country’s most liberal areas is particularly notable. For example, in Fulton County, which contains most of Atlanta, Ms. Harris gained about 4,500 votes, but Mr. Trump gained more than 7,400. Novo Nordisk said Monday it has launched its popular obesity drug Wegovy in China, the world’s second-largest pharmaceuticals market where it estimates more than 180 million people live with obesity. The move intensifies the competition with Eli Lilly, which secured approval for its weight-loss drug in China in July but has yet to launch it. Both companies are ramping up production to capitalize on a weight-loss market projected by analysts to exceed $150 billion by the beginning of the next decade. Novo gained approval for Wegovy in China in June and will initially target Chinese patients willing to pay out-of-pocket for the weekly injectable drug. Novo (NVO) launched Wegovy in the US in 2021.

CNN —Paul Teal, a film and TV actor known best for his role in the CW’s teen soap ‘One Tree Hill,’ has died, according to a statement from his agent Susan Tolar Walters. Teal died on Friday “after a courageous battle with cancer,” Walters’ statement, provided to CNN on Monday, said. Teal is best known for appearing on Season 7 of the hit teen romance series “One Tree Hill” in 2010. Teal’s “One Tree Hill” co-star Bethany Joy Lenz remembered him as “the kind of guy who lit up a room without trying” in a statement posted to her Instagram page. Lenz said she first met Teal while they worked on the musical production of “The Notebook” that she produced in 2006, wherein Teal starred as the lead character Noah Calhoun, before they reconnected on the “One Tree Hill” set in 2010.

In another potentially promising sign, a senior Lebanese official signalled that Hezbollah would pull its forces away from the Lebanese-Israeli border under a ceasefire. Its terms require Hezbollah to remove fighters and weapons from areas between the border and the Litani River, which runs about 20 miles from Lebanon’s southern border. Ozempic is the posterchild of the fast-growing GLP-1 class, in which Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly are currently the two dominant players. Bottom line Eli Lilly has been our favorite drug stock for years thanks to its stellar pipeline led by GLP-1s. Even with vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tapped to potentially lead the Department of Health and Human Services, CNBC's Jim Cramer said drug and junk food industries aren't necessarily headed for ruin. "Ultimately, if RFK dons jackboots and demands that we don't have vaccines or eat junk food, it probably won't matter," he said. At the same time, Cramer added, Kennedy has taken a hard stance against processed food. Many drug and processed food stocks have already shouldered heavy losses since Trump named Kennedy, including Eli Lilly , Bristol-Myers , Moderna , PepsiCo , J.M. Plus, he continued, drug and junk food stocks aren't particularly good investments during a rate-cutting cycle.

Global pharma stocks — Shares of several vaccine makers declined after President-elect Donald Trump selected prominent vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as health secretary on Thursday. Shares of Moderna and Pfizer slipped nearly 9% and 5%, respectively. Ulta slipped nearly 3% after Berkshire Hathaway revealed in a regulatory filing that it had sold around 97% of its shares, nearly dissolving its position in the beauty retailer. Berkshire had just bought the stock in the second quarter, making Ulta a relatively new bet. However, the company beat expectations on both lines in the fourth fiscal quarter and issued positive guidance for adjusted earnings per share.
