CNN —A passenger was taken into custody on Sunday after allegedly attempting to divert a Mexican domestic flight to the US, according to the Volaris airline and Mexican authorities.
CNN reached out to Mexico’s federal Department of Security and Volaris for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
All passengers and crew members were safe, according to Volaris.
The airline said it regrets the inconvenience and that the safety of its passengers and crew remains a top priority.
Following the passenger’s arrest in Guadalajara, the flight continued to Tijuana without further incidents, according to the airline.
