AdvertisementOn November 24, a look-alike contest was held at Auditorium Shores park in Powell's hometown in Austin, Texas, judged by his mother and his aunt. The Chalamet look-alike won $50, which seems to be about the going rate for contest winners, per Vulture's reporting. There was no drama at the Powell look-alike competition, and a man named Max Braunstein won the event while dressed as the actor's character from "Top Gun: Maverick."

☆ New 'Star Wars' trilogy in the works from Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm is developing a new “Star Wars” trilogy with Kinberg set to write and produce the three films with studio chief Kathleen Kennedy. This will begin a new series after “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac, concluded the original nine-chapter “Skywalker Saga” in 2019. Disney currently has Jon Favreau’s “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” a continuation of the Disney+ series about the helmet-wearing bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal), on the calendar for May 22, 2026 along with two untitled “Star Wars” movies set for Dec. 18, 2026 and Dec. 17, 2027. Lucasfilm has several other “Star Wars” projects in the works — from filmmakers such as James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Taika Waititi and Donald Glover — but it’s ambiguous which of these will be the first to hit the big screen. He’s also attached as a producer on Paramount’s next “Star Trek” movie from director Toby Haynes.

It’s almost like how the same guy (Michael Cera) has now played two different versions of this same guy (Scott Pilgrim) — first in Edgar Wright’s damn-near-perfect 2010 film, “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” and now in this underwhelming Netflix anime adaptation, both based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s beloved graphic novel series. “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” isn’t a reboot or a sequel; it begins almost identically to the film but takes a sharp turn at the end of the first episode that sets it up as essentially an alternate-reality scenario.
