Following the press conference, ESPN’s Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst reported that Butler had informed the Heat of his desire to be traded. The news comes just over a week after Heat president Pat Riley categorically ruled out trading the star. “If you’re not on the court playing against Boston, or on the court playing against the New York Knicks, you should keep your mouth shut,” Riley responded at his end-of-season press conference. The Heat are 17-15 and sixth in the Eastern Conference, two wins worse off than they were at this point last season.
