PROVO, Utah — A small herd of domestic llamas was spotted taking an evening stroll on the train tracks in Provo, Utah, on Thursday after the woolen creatures escaped from their owner, according to the Utah Transit Authority. Several emergency responders were dispatched to round up the five llamas after transit officials received reports of the animals wandering the Union Pacific line. SAO PAULO — Families of victims of an airliner crash in Brazil are gathering Sunday at a morgue and hotels in Sao Paulo as forensics experts work to identify the remains of the 62 people killed in the accident. Brazilian media said another four people were identified at the Sao Paulo morgue, which did not confirm the information. Metsul, one of Brazil’s most respected meteorological companies, said Friday there were reports of severe icing in Sao Paulo state around the time of the crash. Sao Paulo state government said 26 families have already attended the morgue for identification efforts, with more expected on Sunday. DALLAS — The uncle of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooter who killed 19 students and two teachers begged police to let him try to talk his nephew down, according to a 911 call included in a massive trove of recordings and transcripts released by city officials Saturday. Ramos told the dispatcher that the shooter, identified as Salvador Ramos, was with him at his house the night before. The 911 call was among numerous records released by officials in Uvalde after a prolonged legal fight. The Environmental Protection Agency is set to announce $4.3 billion in funding on Monday afternoon for 25 new projects proposed by states, tribes, local governments and territories to tackle climate change. The funding could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 971 million metric tons by 2050, or roughly the emissions of five million homes over 25 years, according to the agency. Among the jurisdictions that will get funding, Nebraska will receive $307 million to reduce agricultural waste and enhance energy efficiency in homes and buildings. Pennsylvania will get $396 million to reduce industrial pollution and create about 6,000 jobs,. Ms. Baird said the funds could reduce Lincoln’s greenhouse gas emissions by 77 percent by 2050.
