Read previewRegular readers of Business Insider know that we write rather frequently about Elon Musk and Tesla, his electric car maker. That's because he's a fascinating character, Tesla is a fascinating company — and we know you like reading about both. I downloaded the Tesla app on my iPhone and the owner added me to his account, meaning no physical key was needed. The trunk of the Tesla Model 3 could fit quite a lot of luggage. If I had to sum it up in a sentence, it'd be this: the Tesla was just a bit boring.

The design was upcycled from vintage Chanel scarves by stylist Logan Horne, whose brand, J. Logan Home, specializes in refashioning heritage luxury accessories. Fashion brands' legal claims are varied but ultimately boil down to concerns that third parties are free-riding on brands’ valuable IP in ways that could risk confusing consumers, eroding primary sales and tarnishing or diluting carefully cultivated marks. Some big brands, like Prada, Gucci and indeed Levi’s, have already dabbled with upcycling collections and programs of their own. These days, she says she’s having about a conversation a week with brands interested in exploring collaboration, but the industry moves slowly.

“This line is crazy,” said the broadcast journalist Don Lemon, as he walked toward the red carpet crush at just after 7 p.m. on Thursday night. He was bound for the Time 100 Gala, the annual black tie schmoozefest in Manhattan where a 100-person smorgasbord of luminaries — tech titans, activists, Oscar winners, pop stars, athletes and artists — was celebrated by the magazine as the most important people of the year. And the celebrities who were feted at the event included Colman Domingo, Taraji P. Henson, Dev Patel, Patrick Mahomes and Dua Lipa. Lemon, who arrived with his husband, the real estate broker Tim Malone, was not among the honorees.
