On Sunday, Russia's defense ministry backed a claim first made by the head of the Wagner paramilitary group, Prigozhin, that Russian forces have seized Bakhmut. Ukraine’s deputy defense minister, Hanna Maliar, said Monday that Ukrainian forces were still in control of some buildings in the southwest of Bakhmut, two days after Russia claimed to have captured the city. Russian forces, bolstered by members of the Wagner mercenary group, have taken heavy losses trying to capture the city. Only two roads out to the west have remained outside Russian control, though for Ukrainian forces trying to re-supply the city, the drives in have been treacherous. "Yes, indeed, early this morning there was an attempt to commit a terrorist act against the Druzhba oil pipeline system at the Bryansk filling station," Transneft's spokesman told TASS. Early on Wednesday, Baza, a Telegram channel with links to Russia's law enforcement agencies, reported that three empty oil reservoirs at the Druzhba pipeline's filling station came under attack. Druzhba pipeline was attacked several times after the start of what Kremlin casts as a special military operation in Ukraine last February.
