New York CNN —Young American adults are increasingly getting their news from social media influencers, a majority of whom are men and lean to the right, according to a new study from the Pew Research Center. On Facebook, there were three times as many explicitly conservative news influencers (39% to 13%), and on Instagram conservatives outnumbered liberals, 30-25%. “Many Republicans have long believed that social media sites censor conservative viewpoints. Social media influencers differ from trained journalists in how they report facts, often weaving their own views into current events or presenting opinions as reportable facts. Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday vowed to work with the incoming U.S. administration of President-elect Donald Trump as he held his final talks with outgoing President Joe Biden on key conflicts from cyber crime to trade, Taiwan and Russia. Mahomes vs. Allen, Round 8The NFL schedulers probably should have made this the Sunday night contest. The Bears rank seventh against the pass, have allowed only 18.6 points per game (seventh-best) and have 16 takeaways (also seventh). Foes do find it hard to run on Baltimore, which gives up an NFL-low 73.0 rushing yards per game. They are holding opponents to a league-best 13.1 points per game, and haven’t allowed more than 20 points in any game this season. So this matchup will be a good measuring stick for the Chargers’ defense, while proving whether Herbert and company can win in a shootout if necessary.

There’s an argument to be made that Thursday’s game between the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles is the most important Commanders regular season game in nearly 20 years. Since 2000, the Eagles have seven NFC championship game appearances, as well as three Super Bowl appearances. In fact, of the Commanders’ seven victories, only one has come against a team that’s currently over .500. Three of their wins have come against the Giants and the Carolina Panthers, who have seven wins combined. But beating the Eagles — on the road and in a short week — would certify Washington in a way the previous 10 weeks haven’t.

Mass deportation would exacerbate this economic issue, say employers and economists. Leverant says it is still being determined how jobs lost from a mass deportation would be filled. "Looking at specific occupations, about one-quarter of farm workers, agricultural graders, and sorters are undocumented workers. "One of the natural problems with undocumented workers, we don't know how many are here because they are undocumented. A mass deportation is not possible without crippling economic impact," he said.

Moderna on Thursday posted a surprise profit for the third quarter, smashing Wall Street estimates, as its cost-cutting efforts took hold and sales of its Covid vaccine came in higher than expected. Before year end, the company plans to file for approval of its experimental "next-generation" Covid vaccine and combination shot targeting Covid and the flu. Moderna this year also expects to apply for expanded approval of its RSV vaccine, targeting high-risk adults ages 18 to 59. "I think the earlier launch and a steeper ramp drove a much higher sales number" for the Covid vaccine, Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said in an interview. Analysts had expected sales of $132 million for the RSV vaccine, according to estimates compiled by StreetAccount.
