Chinese authorities last month announced high-level plans for subsidies and tax breaks to households with children under the age of 3. China's efforts to bolster birth rates have yet to address the core reasons for their rapid decline, according to analysts. Births in China have been on a drastic downward trend since the government implemented its "one-child policy" nationwide in 1980. An increasingly pressing factor for families in China is uncertainty about income for raising a child. After decades of rapid expansion, China's economy has slowed down, dragged down by a real estate slump.

Until the government's measures pan out, investment strategists are recommending a handful of oversold stocks in China. U.S. hedge fund billionaire David Tepper said Thursday on CNBC's " Squawk Box " that he bought more Chinese stocks after the change in China policy. That hedge fund allocation rose to 7.3% on Tuesday, which saw the largest single day purchases by hedge funds since March 2021, Rubner said. Retail investors account for the majority of trading activity in mainland Chinese stocks, also known as A shares. Mainland Chinese stock exchanges are scheduled to close from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7 for a holiday, which this year commemorates the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

STEEP GROWTH, EVERYWHEREAsia dominates the global wind power market, accounting for just over 47% of the worldwide capacity growth in 2022, according to Ember. Annual wind power generation capacity growth by regionOutside of Asia, Europe was the fastest growing region in terms of wind capacity in 2022, where installed capacity expanded by close to 20 GW, or by 8.4%. North America was the next largest wind capacity developer, with 8.84 GW, followed by Latin America, which expanded capacity by 4.36 GW. WIND GROWTH MORE BALANCED THAN SOLARWith just over half of all wind capacity growth occurring outside of Asia in 2022, global wind turbine producers and installation firms have had a larger share of international opportunities than their counterparts in the solar business. In combination with continued strong demand for wind power supply capacity and substantially cheaper supply chain flows, the expected improvements in each firms' wind segment performance should also yield improvements in future financial metrics.

"Keeping policy rates stable will help curb widening interest rate differentials between China and the United States and stabilise FX market expectations." With 1 trillion yuan worth of MLF loans set to expire on the same day, the operation resulted in a net 150 billion yuan medium-term cash withdrawal through the instrument. The central bank said the latest operation was aimed at counteracting higher cash demand due to tax payments and keeping "banking system liquidity reasonably ample". Separately, the central bank also injected 172 billion yuan through seven-day reverse repos while keeping borrowing costs unchanged at 2.00%, compared with 2 billion yuan worth of such loans expiring on the same day. The central bank will "continue to maintain ample liquidity, but chances for an interest rate cut are low," he said.
