The company also benefits from making chips strictly for its own use rather than being a traditional chip-maker that sells to other companies, Millet said. Oct 25 (Reuters) - Payroll processor Automatic Data Processing (ADP.O) beat first-quarter profit estimates on Wednesday, on higher demand for its employee management services in a strong job market. The U.S. job market has stayed strong this year even in the face of an uncertain economic outlook. "First-quarter revenue growth and margin performance exceeded our expectations, as we benefited from solid new business bookings growth, strong client revenue retention and higher client funds interest revenue," said ADP's finance chief Don McGuire. The company saw a 9% increase in revenue from its mainstay employer services business, which provides human resource outsourcing. Interest on funds held for clients also rose 43% to $202 million.

REUTERS/ Tom BerginFeb 23 (Reuters) - Adobe Inc (ADBE.O) said on Thursday it had signed a deal with semiconductor Qualcomm Inc (QCOM.O) as a customer for its cloud-based marketing software. The subscription-based marketing software helped Adobe become one of the few software companies founded in the 1980s to navigate the transition to the modern cloud era and has helped nearly double its revenue since 2018. That means that Qualcomm is trying to court customers in a variety of industries. The Adobe software aims to help Qualcomm keep tabs on those elements of its website and tweak them to help better draw in each set of customers.
