Unilever Plc said it wanted to shed its ice cream division, which generates around 8 billion ($8.5 billion) in annual sales, in a bid to reverse years of lackluster performance. Unilever shares popped 6.8% on Thursday morning, after the consumer goods giant raised its full-year margin guidance and said the spinoff of its ice cream business was on track to complete by the end of 2025. Beauty and well-being expanded 7.1%, while ice cream lagged other segments with just 0.6% of growth. Organic sales growth came in at 3.9% in the second quarter, missing expectations of a 4.2% expansion forecast by a company-compiled consensus.

The company’s overall ice cream sales grew 5.7% in the first half of the year in value terms, compared with the same period in 2022. Price rises across Unilever’s products helped push up its sales by 9.1% in the first half, even though volumes fell marginally.

Consumer goods giant Unilever has confirmed it will comply with legislation that could see its employees in Russia conscripted into the war in Ukraine. It has around 3,000 employees in Russia, working across four manufacturing sites and one head office. Ecclissato said in the letter that Unilever has faced three options for its Russia operations. One was closing all Russia operations, after which he said Unilever's business and brands in the country would be "appropriated — and then operated — by the Russian state." The third, which Unilever has adopted, was continuing to run the business with constraints that have been in place since March.

Aruncau cu verde de briliant, frate-meu a fost bătut foarte tare, a fost într-o stare foarte gravă, l-am hrănit cu paiul. Mi-am dedicat 3 ani studierii aprofundate a operei și a biografiei lui Anton Cehov.
