A key part of U.S. support for Israel revolves around ensuring that its Iron Dome system continues to "guard the skies over Israel," President Biden said in his Oval Office address Thursday night.
That's a reference to Israel's highly effective short-range missile defense system that allows it to destroy incoming rockets from Gaza.
Since the current conflict began, the U.S. has surged a resupply of the Iron Dome's Tamir interceptors, individual missiles that explode near incoming rockets, destroying them.
Thousands of rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israel since Oct. 7.
