I moved to Italy in my 20s after a summer study abroad in Rome during my senior year of college. The most shocking cultural differences are the little things in daily lifeA big part of the "la dolce vita" concept is that life moves slower. Italy isn't as "online" as the US, so you're better off going to a place in person rather than trying to call or email. AdvertisementThe traditional Italian home, which is pretty tiny, isn't designed for people to spend a lot of time there. Seeing the way Italians live, though, has left me in awe of the typical American home, decorated to personal taste with private green space.

But hidden within the typical red carpet fanfare at the Governors Ball in Los Angeles on Sunday night was a group of sartorial renegades, each one taking aim at the traditional button-down shirt. Leading the charge was actor Barry Keoghan, dressed in a full Dolce & Gabbana suit featuring a black cropped satin jacket. Matt Baron/BEI/ShutterstockDrew Starkey paired his red suit with a stand collar and ornate black clasp. His Shakespearean-style blouse might look more at home at a Renaissance fair than a glitzy red carpet, but its off-white shade and tie-front detail gave the Gucci tuxedo a new lease of life. Jordan Strauss/Invision/APWith social media positioning fashion as mainstream entertainment, red carpet dressing has never felt so important to an actor’s digital profile.

The word charcuterie refers to cold cooked, cured, or smoked meats; so technically, a traditional charcuterie board is just a meat platter. CNN —Taylor Swift was among the many stars to channel ’90s fashion at the MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, wearing a chic taffeta bustier and skirt by Dior. But with its punk-accented stylings, in the form of black buckles, collar and zipped fitted front, Swift’s version is, by far, the edgiest. Quoting its founder Christian Dior, the brand called tartan “the only fancy fabric that resists fashions” in the show notes. The look on Wednesday night was a departure from Swift’s typical red carpet style. Taylor Swift's outfit was hot off the Dior Cruise 2025 runway, staged in Perthshire, Scotland.

More than 70 LGBTQ models and eight designers took over the Brooklyn Museum on Thursday night for dapperQ’s ninth annual queer fashion show, "Presents Nine," coinciding with the start of New York Fashion Week. Hundreds of attendees crowded the perimeter of the runway, cheering, chanting — and sometimes screaming — as models strutted across the stage. Jorge Garcia for NBC NewsWhile the event is not part of the official New York Fashion Week lineup, dapperQ, a digital magazine dedicated to covering queer fashion as a form of activism, intentionally makes its show just as big of a spectacle. The idea for the event came to founder Anita Dolce Vita more than a decade ago, when she started receiving invitations to NYFW shows. “I would come back with very little content that would be relevant to our readers and our communities,” Dolce Vita told NBC News.

How much is too much to spend on jeans?

Of course, there were the aghast social media comments, those are to be expected, but the moment also inspired a reasonable question: How much is too much to spend on jeans? These jeans are something of an outlier, having been designed — undoubtedly — with celebrities and the 1% in mind. Cheaper options are plentiful across the market — from classic $100 Levi’s to newer denim brands, such as MUD Jeans or ELV Denim, emphasizing their sustainable or circular credentials (jeans in this category tend to be priced around $200 to $500.) A brief buyer’s guideNew York-based stylist and newsletter author Becky Malinsky wearing Auralee jeans. “I feel, personally, there are many sustainable brands out there that are producing a really good pair of jeans for around $150 to $200.

The Italian fashion house's alcohol-free fragrance mist for dogs, which costs £83 ($105) on its U.K. website, is inspired by Fefé, the pet dog of brand-owner Domenico Dolce. Oils such as ylang ylang which is included in Fefé, can also have a positive effect, he said.
