Jeffrey Talajic, who runs MagicTripTools.com, analyzed Florida park prices at Walt Disney World and Universal Resort Orlando going back to 1990, using data from the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. Talajic found that Disney World raised prices 22 out of the past 35 years, and Universal raised theirs 23 times. In Florida, guests can save between $60 and $200 per night on Disney World ticket and hotel packages for much of the first half of 2025. Another deal on the Disney World website offers hotel discounts between 10% and 25% on many dates from January through April.

The group had announced a union organizing effort in February, but very often such campaigns fall short of filing to hold a vote. Union organizing efforts have picked up in the last year, especially in the wake of a number of high profile contract wins by unions that provided union members with large pay raises. There are more than 21,000 Disneyland “cast member” employees, who are represented by more than a dozen unions. But it doesn’t include the performers who dress up as characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy and interact with visitors. Vo said it’s difficult for cast members to afford living on their own, and many have roommates.

☆ One of the oldest restaurants at Downtown Disney in California is closing down

Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar at Disneyland California's Downtown Disney are closing on 14 April. The restaurant has been in business since the Downtown Disney District opened in 2001. Catal Restaurant and its accompanying outdoor bar – Uva Bar – have been permanent fixtures since the opening of Downtown Disney in 2001. The theme park says that the restaurant and bar are closing "to make way for an exciting new addition to the Downtown Disney District." The change is part of a large redevelopment of the Downtown Disney District, which is home to a number of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options.

Chapek's time at Disney was marked by criticism of his handling of Disney's theme parks and park employees, and many Disney fans took to social media to celebrate Iger's return. He expanded the company's theme park offerings – opening an Avatar world, Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and Shanghai Disneyland – all while keeping many services comparatively low-cost or free. Not all Disney watchers believe Iger will radically change the direction Chapek had led Disney's theme parks, though.
