The apparel company issued strong holiday guidance on Tuesday after posting its sixth straight quarter of double-digit sales growth and another quarter of results that topped expectations. For the all-important holiday shopping quarter, Abercrombie is expecting sales growth of 5% to 7%, ahead of the 4.8% growth that analysts had expected, according to LSEG. That new outlook is higher than the 12.1% growth analysts had expected, according to LSEG. The Abercrombie and Hollister brands posted comparable sales growth of 11% and 21%, respectively. London-based hedge fund Granular Capital has revealed a renewed interest Borr Drilling , saying the offshore drilling company's shares could increase by up to 300% or 400%. The hedge fund's thesis centers on Borr's fleet of 24 modern jack-up rigs – specialized vessels used to maintain oil and gas production in shallow waters. Additionally, about one-third of the global jack-up fleet is approaching or has exceeded retirement age, suggesting a likely decrease in available equipment going forward. Singapore, which previously constructed 50% of global jackup rigs, has largely converted its manufacturing capacity to other uses. This week, Seatrium signed an agreement with India's Cochin Shipyard to build jack-up rigs, potentially at a lower cost in the future.

In today’s edition, senior politics reporter Alex Seitz-Wald breaks down the long-standing Democratic truisms that were challenged by the results of the 2024 elections. Here are five of the party’s core assumptions that have been challenged by the 2024 election outcome:1. Higher turnout benefits Democrats: Democrats have long taken for granted a simple truism: The more people who vote, the better for Democrats. NBC News exit polls show Trump won voters without college degrees 56%-42%, while he narrowly won voters with family incomes of $30,000 to $100,000 annually. But Trump won both the Electoral College and popular vote this year as Harris’ performance fell in those Democratic bastions.

Delta Air Lines on Wednesday said sales would grow in 2025, citing a "resilient economy" for strong travel demand and credit card spending, especially for higher-end offerings. Delta forecast revenue growth in the mid-single digit percentage points next year compared with 2024, in line with the roughly 6% growth analysts were expecting. In an investor day presentation, the carrier said it would expand flying by 3% to 4% next year from 2024. Hauenstein said Delta is looking for new ways to segment its cabins after the carrier — and rivals — spent years breaking coach-class into options like premium economy, extra-legroom seats and basic economy. While it didn't provide detail, it's also considering more options for travelers sitting in the front of the plane too, Hauenstein said.
