An animal rights extremist believed to be behind a pair of bombings in Northern California over two decades ago was caught in Wales on Monday, authorities said. FBI Director Christopher Wray celebrated the capture of Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, saying on Tuesday the suspect will finally be held "accountable" for his alleged acts of "violence and destruction." He's also accused of sending a "bomb strapped with nails" that went off at a nutritional company, Shaklee Corp., in nearby Pleasanton, on Sept. 26, 2003. The FBI believed that San Diego, who was born in Berkeley, bombed the firms because they had worked with another lab that had conducted animals experiments. “There’s a right way and a wrong way to express your views in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way," Wray added.

Others said they took Social Security too early or retired without a long-term financial plan. Some older Americans wish they'd had more investing knowledgeA major theme among BI's survey respondents was that they lacked knowledge about investing. She also didn't realize that because she has a pension in addition to receiving Social Security when she retires, she would be affected by a little-known Social Security provision that would lower her monthly check. These moves appear aimed at changing the war before Trump — who seems to want most to end the conflict as soon as possible — takes office. Biden, whose administration has sent billions of dollars in weaponry to Ukraine, recently lifted long-held restrictions on Kyiv's use of American-made longer-range missiles to strike targets inside Russia. Multiple weather fronts will push rain and snow into the Midwest, the Southeast, the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast ahead of Thanksgiving week and some of the year's busiest travel days. Rain, snow expected this weekStarting in the Pacific Northwest, a "long duration atmospheric river" was expected to bring 5 inches of rain and at least 3 inches of snow to Oregon and Northern California beginning as early as Monday, federal forecasters and academic researchers said. The rest of the country is likely to get normal precipitation or below-normal rain during that time, the prediction center said. American Airlines said in a statement Thursday that it expects to set a record for passengers served during the holiday span, with nearly 8.3 million expected. It may be too early to tell whether brewing rain and snow systems will thwart travel and spending plans.

CNN —The elusive deep-water oarfish – considered to be a harbinger of bad news – was spotted yet again on the shores of Encinitas, California. “We took samples and froze the specimen awaiting further study and final preservation in the Marine Vertebrate Collection,” Ben Frable, manager of the Scripps Oceanography Marine Vertebrate Collection, said in the post. “Like with the previous oarfish, this specimen and the samples taken from it will be able to tell us much about the biology, anatomy, genomics and life history of oarfish,” Frable said in the post. The fish was found in good condition according to the release, and it was taken in for examination and preservation to become a part of the organization’s Marine Vertebrate Collection. “It may have to do with changes in ocean conditions and increased numbers of oarfish off our coast,” Frable said.

On the face of it, there are sizable differences in foreign policy between Trump and President Joe Biden. In October, the Biden administration again helped to intercept a barrage of around 200 Iranian ballistic missiles, which also caused minimal damage to targets in Israel. Bringing US troops homeIn 2020, the Trump administration signed a US withdrawal agreement from Afghanistan with the Taliban. But after McMaster was pushed out of office in 2018, the Trump administration negotiated with the Taliban the withdrawal agreement of all US forces from Afghanistan.
