Bosworth was asked whether he felt the term "metaverse" did more harm than good. But if you're still scratching your head over the term "metaverse," don't worry, Meta's chief technology officer gets your confusion. He then compared the ambiguity around the definition of the metaverse to the confusion people experienced in the early 1990s when they were making sense of the internet. At the same time, Bosworth admitted that Meta never expected its rebrand — and by extension the term metaverse — to garner so much attention. Reality Labs was included in Meta's recent layoffs, and Zuckerberg seems to have since shifted focus to AI.

NEW YORK, May 22 (Reuters) - Enad Global 7 AB's (EG7.ST) stock price jumped 5% on Monday after U.S. activist investor Alta Fox urged the Swedish video game company to explore strategic options, including a possible sale. "EG7 is a high-quality business that remains dramatically undervalued due to no fault of current leadership," Alta Fox's managing partner Connor Haley wrote. Previous management's missteps and the fact that it is not well known outside of Sweden are hurting the company, the letter said. The hedge fund suggested the company, whose stock is listed in Sweden, should relist in the United States in order to buy back shares. "We were shocked," a former employee in Truepill's business development division said of the layoffs. Insider spoke with five former and two current Truepill employees about the challenges the company is confronting after a tumultuous year. Truepill was hiring employees rapidly, accumulating about 1,800 employees by the spring of 2022, according to one former employee in Truepill's business division. Since then, there's been a companywide push to inch closer to profitability, one of the current employees told Insider. It's also downsizing its Miami pharmacy, the current employee said.
Killing off projects had become something of a tradition at Kittyhawk, the secretive flying-car startup launched by the Google cofounder Larry Page. Larry Page has used his Google money to found a series of flying car companies with one common goal: "to free the world of traffic." "When Bloomberg did their original exposé, that's when urban air mobility became a thing," a former Kittyhawk employee recalled. Everyone thought: If Larry Page is in this space, there must be something here." Interpreting "Larry-isms" or "learning to speak Larry" were essential skills for any Kittyhawk employee who wanted to retain their sanity.

Feb 20 (Reuters) - Several teams have approached Honda about a partnership when Formula One's new engine era starts in 2026 but no decision has been taken about future involvement, the Japanese manufacturer said on Monday. Honda have an agreement to build engines in Japan for world champions Red Bull and sister team AlphaTauri but that will end in 2025. "That is why we have decided to register as manufacturer of a power unit," he explained. "Last year I believe all the power unit manufacturers prioritised performance in their development, and so did we," said Kakuda. He said Honda had further optimised control and energy management and worked with suppliers to improve the precision of parts and power unit assembly.
[1/3] A Tesla is charged at an electric car supercharger station in Los Angeles, California, U.S. August 2, 2018. A dearth of chargers on U.S. roads has slowed the growth of EV sales and the positive environmental impact, advocates say. In January of last year, Tesla wrote the Federal Highway Administration, offering the Biden administration suggestions on how to shape the charging program. In Ohio, the company responded to a recent request that companies submit charging proposals, state officials told Reuters. The Department of Transportation next week will detail final requirements that all electric vehicle chargers must meet to be eligible for funding under the $7.5 billion effort to electrify highways and interstates across the nation.
TOKYO, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Japan's Honda Motor Co (7267.T) said it will start producing a new hydrogen fuel cell system jointly developed with General Motors Co (GM.N) this year and gradually step up sales this decade, in a bid to expand its hydrogen business. The Japanese carmaker is seeking to expand the use of its new system not only for its own fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), but also commercial vehicles such as heavy trucks, as stationary power stations and in construction machinery. Honda will start production of the hydrogen fuel cell system through its joint venture with GM this year, Honda senior managing executive director Shinji Aoyama told reporters during a company event in Tokyo. With the "next-generation" system, the company aims to more than double durability compared with its older fuel cell system and to bring costs down by two-thirds. That would likely lead to a divergence in trucks using batteries and those running on fuel cells, he added.
