Drive Pilot can take over in traffic jams, letting you kick back, watch a movie, or read a book. Drive Pilot will be available in the electric EQS, shown here, as well as the gas-powered S-Class sedan. Over time, Mercedes plans to teach Drive Pilot to function in more places and at higher speeds. One lidar sensor actually helps Drive Pilot see in 3D, the other is just for symmetry. For people subjected to that sort of treatment daily — or, tragically, twice a day — Drive Pilot could be a game changer.
