Vice President Harris is expected to call President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to concede the 2024 presidential race and is also expected to speak publicly, according to two Harris aides. NBC News called the presidential race Wednesday morning, projecting that Trump won just after 5:30 a.m. Harris, 60, launched her presidential campaign after President Joe Biden, 81, withdrew from the race on July 21 and endorsed her as the Democratic Party's nominee. While Harris had about three months to campaign, Trump launched his re-election campaign, his third for president, shortly after the 2022 midterm elections that November. Polls had shown in recent weeks that the race was dead even and Harris faced a gender gap in which more men, specifically white men, were backing Trump.

Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign operation crossed the $1 billion fundraising threshold in September, two months after she took over as the Democratic Party's 2024 standard bearer, according to two people familiar with the numbers. That figure includes money raised by the campaign committee itself and by a campaign-affiliated joint fundraising committee that also collects cash for the Democratic National Committee and state parties. The staggering pace suggests Harris has been able to sustain enthusiasm among donors, large and small, as the campaign enters the stretch run before the Nov. 5 election. Presidential campaigns tend to take in more money as an election nears, but a clip of roughly half a billion dollars a month is unheard of. TEMPE, Arizona — Police are investigating what appears to be gunfire damage overnight at a Democratic Party-coordinated campaign office for Vice President Kamala Harris. The office is shared by staff for the Arizona Democratic Party, the Harris campaign, and Senate and House campaigns, to boost turnout for the party in November. “Overnight, several shots were fired into our Tempe Democratic Party coordinated campaign office,” McEnerney said. The coordinated campaign office in Tempe is one of 18 field offices for the Harris campaign in Arizona, according to Patty Socarras, the state Democratic Party's communications director. On Aug. 28, the Harris campaign held a campaign event in Tempe featuring Democratic Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost.

PHOENIX — Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign told a Pennsylvania court that he will be endorsing former President Donald Trump, ahead of his own Friday afternoon announcement putting to rest a tumultuous independent presidential campaign. The filing came shortly before Kennedy was set to take the stage at an Arizona press conference where he's expected to formally end his presidential campaign. Initially, Kennedy sought the Democratic presidential nomination, but he decided in October 2023 to run as an independent bid instead. The Kennedy campaign spent more than $8 million on campaign consulting from Accelevate 2020 LLC, a group that also does ballot-access work. Overall, the campaign effectively raised what it spent — it amassed $57.6 million and spent almost $54 million through July.
