CNN —Tour de France champion Tadej Pogačar will not compete at the upcoming Paris Olympics due to fatigue, the Slovenian Olympic Committee announced on Monday. The Slovenian Olympic Committee cited “being too tired” as the reason for Pogačar’s withdrawal from the Olympics, according to Reuters, adding that his place in the team would be taken by Domen Novak. Pogačar crosses the finish line of Sunday's time trial in Nice, the final stage of this year's Tour de France. At this year’s Tour de France, Pogačar claimed six stage victories – the most since 2009 – and ultimately finished six minutes and 17 seconds ahead of Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard. He capped off his latest title with victory in Sunday’s time trial in Nice, which marked the final stage of the race.

The ceremonies, as is tradition, honor those who fought and died in World War II, and reaffirm a commitment to learn the lessons of history. But what exactly are those lessons, and how exactly will world leaders turn that commitment into reality? Join us on Twitter and FacebookAs they gaze on the once blood-drenched beaches of Normandy, world leaders should consider the lessons of World War II, and how to apply them today. Eventually, 16.4 million Americans served in the military during World War II, more than 10% of the population. And yet, the beaches of Normandy resonate with the lessons of that terrible history; world leaders should listen closely.

On the final day of Donald Trump’s hush money criminal trial — in which a jury found the former president guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records — Emily Ratajkowski was spotted wearing a not-so-subtle statement shirt. Ratajkowski wore her $95 Stormy Daniels T-shirt out in New York. Ratajkowski herself is no stranger to the art of sartorial support, wearing a conspicuous Rage Against the Machine T-shirt in 2020 featuring a young Bernie Sanders. Despite a lack of statement, Cate Blanchett's latest Cannes look was interpreted by many as a nod to the Palestinian flag. Similarly, Ratajkowski has spoken at length in her 2021 book “My Body” about her experience enduring several instances of sexual assault.

February 24, 2023, marked the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Billions of dollars of aid has been sent, and Russia has lost about half its fleet of tanks. When his troops invaded on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin expected to quickly sweep through the country and capture Kyiv. Still, the cost of the war — in lives, dollars, and military equipment — has been high. AP Photo/Daniel ColeThe dead and woundedUkrainian refugees are seen after crossing into Poland on March 13, 2022.
Ukraine's allies have agreed to send it advanced tanks after months of indecision. The group said Ukraine should move towards a style of mechanized maneuver warfare that "uses rapid, unanticipated movements against Russia," sources told CNN. The new tanks and armored vehicles committed by Ukraine's allies are supposed to help Ukraine make the switch, CNN reported. Tanks for UkraineUkraine had been requesting advanced tanks for months, but the US and Germany in particular had been reluctant to send the weapons. Even so, Ukraine's plans, and Western hopes for a new, more aggressive strategy, will be aided by other advanced weaponry that its allies have recently committed and sent.
