CNN —One person was critically injured in a stabbing at Miami International Airport late Saturday evening, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department, prompting the evacuations of two concourses. Normal airport operations have since resumed, police said in a news release Sunday morning. “Without provocation, the subject attacked the victim by stabbing her multiple times and attempted to throw her over the railing,” the release said. Passengers were evacuated from Concourses H and J in the airport’s south terminal as a precaution, and operations resumed after all passengers were rescreened, airport officials said. The Federal Aviation Administration received more than 2,000 reports of unruly passengers in 2023, a 15% decrease from the previous year.

CNN —An underwater search team that specializes in missing persons cold cases discovered approximately 30 cars submerged in a South Florida lake over the weekend, police said. “As of this time, it is unknown if these vehicles are linked to criminal activity nor how long the vehicles have been submerged in the lake,” Doral police said. Authorities were investigating Tuesday after divers recovered dozens of vehicles from a lake in Doral, Florida. More than 40 cold cases on are their radar in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, Bishop said. Miami-Dade police told CNN their divers were working Tuesday to recover vehicles from the lake with assistance from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Ten people were injured following a shooting that witnesses say happened during a music video shoot for rapper French Montana. Shots rang out just before 8 p.m. Thursday outside of a Miami Gardens restaurant. Witnesses said the chaos unfolded as French Montana was filming a music video, according to NBC Miami. Footage showed the rapper sitting in a car outside The Licking restaurant before shots were fired. They said they had not confirmed that the shooting happened during the filming of French Montana's video.

A Florida motorist who was clinging to the top of her vehicle in a canal was rescued from the water after a paraglider made an emergency landing over the weekend. He noticed the motorist on the roof of her mostly submerged vehicle and decided to land, Piquet said. "We landed between power lines, uneven terrain," Piquet told NBC Miami. After he got as close as he could to the woman, Piquet shouted, "We need help." As a precaution, a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue diver checked the area of the canal near the submerged vehicle for additional victims and found none, the spokesperson said.
An American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency return to a Florida airport on Wednesday due to a chemical odor. The odor had seeped out of a passenger's carry-on bag and into the cabin, officials said.
