As much as consumers love shopping online, most hate to shell out for shipping charges. Paying for return shipping is even worse. These days, 77% of shoppers check the return policy before making a purchase, according to a September survey of 1,500 adults by GoDaddy. Nearly a third, 30%, of consumers said paying for return shipping was more annoying than jury duty and going to the Department of Motor Vehicles. When it comes to winning over customers, return fees matter, other reports also show.

For some Americans, the American Dream has become more like a vision. That's according to a recent Pew Research Center survey, in which more than 8,700 U.S. adults were asked to describe their views of the American Dream. "The American Dream is changing, according to small-business owners," Fara Howard, GoDaddy's chief marketing officer, told CNBC Make It at the time. Thirty-one percent said they'd already achieved the American Dream, and 36% said they were on the right path toward it. "These views are nearly identical to when the Center last asked this question in 2022," the Pew report noted.

When my son was 4 years old in March 2020, we started lying with him to help him get to sleep. We'd curl up together in his crimson-red fire truck bed and talk about anything and everything. "Mommy, when you're an old granny, I'll tell my kids you were a wonderful mommy," he whispered to me one night. Melissa Noble and her husband cuddle with their kids before bed each night. We tried a few techniques half-heartedly, like having a consistent bedtime routine and weaning our support, but it never really worked.

When I moved to the "Big Smoke," my mom and dad offered to send me $1,000 every month, mainly to help with rent. My parents didn't receive much financial help during their 20s; their circumstances were different, as was the economy some 30 years ago. On Tuesday, Oklahoma's country music station KYKC refused to play Beyoncé's new song "TEXAS HOLD 'EM." Here's what to know about Beyoncé's challenges with being recognized by the country music industry. I requested Texas Hold ‘Em at my local country radio station (KYKC) and after requesting, i received an email from the radio station stating “We do not play Beyoncé on KYKC as we are a country music station. Although critics and fans praised Beyoncé's country pivot, the Country Music Association Awards and the Grammy's country music committee did not nominate the song for any awards, which was viewed as a snub. Nancy Ney | Photodisc | Getty ImagesThe downsides of 529-to-Roth IRA rolloversThe biggest downside of a 529-to-Roth IRA rollover is the conversion counts toward your annual IRA contribution limit, which may stunt future growth across both accounts, according to Loyd. "If my kids are pulling money from their 529 to make Roth contributions down the road, Daddy's not going to be happy." If my kids are pulling money from their 529 to make Roth contributions down the road, Daddy's not going to be happy. There's a lifetime cap of $35,000 for 529-to-Roth IRA rollovers, which means it would take five years of $7,000 conversions to reach the limit. Generally, it's better to keep the money growing in a 529 plan and contribute to a Roth IRA separately because you can change 529 plan beneficiaries, Loyd said.

Martin Luther King III, along with his wife, Arndrea Waters King, and their 15-year-old daughter, Yolanda, have developed a set of traditions for this time of the year. The original march, which featured their father as a centerpiece, helped till the ground for passage of federal civil rights and voting rights legislation in the 1960s. "What we know is when people stand up, the difference can be made," Martin Luther King III told The Associated Press in an interview ahead of Saturday. Twenty three years ago, she introduced Sharpton and Martin Luther King III at a 37th anniversary march and urged them to carry on the legacy. And the voting rights marches from Montgomery to Selma, Alabama, in which marchers were brutally beaten while crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge in what became known as "Bloody Sunday," forced Congress to adopt the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The "American Dream" has long been equated with economic achievement and wealth. "The American Dream is changing, according to small-business owners," Fara Howard, GoDaddy's chief marketing officer, tells CNBC Make It. Small-business owners are often considered a litmus test for the American Dream, as some entrepreneurs see startups as an opportunity to climb the socioeconomic ladder. Despite new definitions of the American Dream, survey respondents said that lack of access to technology, education and affordable health care still stand as barriers. "American small-business owners are thinking beyond revenue and sales growth when they consider what the American Dream means to them," Howard said in a statement last week.
