College football entered a new era Sunday with the unveiling of the first 12-team Playoff bracket.
The 12 participants are, in order of seeding: Oregon, Georgia, Boise State, Arizona State, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Indiana, SMU and Clemson.
In 2012, leaders of the BCS approved the College Football Playoff, which launched in 2014 as a four-team postseason knockout tournament.
