And if you did miss them, both these revolutionary runways are part of a new London exhibition, “Vogue: Inventing the Runway,” at the Lightroom. Alexander McQueen's Spring-Summer 1999 show, featuring a duo of spray-painting robots, has gone down in fashion history. Coco Chanel would watch the her own fashion shows from the mirrored staircase in her apartment building in Paris. The Vogue exhibition at the Lightroom chronicles the history of the runway, using backstage and runway footage to immerse the audience.

Editor’s Note: This article was originally published by The Business of Fashion, an editorial partner of CNN Style. The design was upcycled from vintage Chanel scarves by stylist Logan Horne, whose brand, J. Logan Home, specializes in refashioning heritage luxury accessories. Fashion brands' legal claims are varied but ultimately boil down to concerns that third parties are free-riding on brands’ valuable IP in ways that could risk confusing consumers, eroding primary sales and tarnishing or diluting carefully cultivated marks. Some big brands, like Prada, Gucci and indeed Levi’s, have already dabbled with upcycling collections and programs of their own. These days, she says she’s having about a conversation a week with brands interested in exploring collaboration, but the industry moves slowly.

Why is pop culture so obsessed with nuns?
  + stars: | 2024-04-12 | by ( Leah Dolan | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +5 min
These vestal get-ups are, in fact, the latest in a long line of subversive pop culture interpretations of the lives (and loves) of nuns. More recently, Bella Hadid walked the Coperni Fall-Winter 2022 runway wearing headgear reminiscent of a nun’s habit. The “Nunsploitation” subgenre saw the transformation of nuns from icons of piety and sacrifice into harbingers of evil and sexual obsession. In lighter fare, “Sister Act 3,” a third movie in the beloved “Sister Act” series of the 1990s starring Whoopi Goldberg is currently in development. “The juxtaposition of the nun’s habit with either blatant sexuality or the cultivation of personal identity and style is shocking and grabs people’s attention,” wrote Dr. Neal.

A fabricated screenshot of Bella Hadid’s Instagram story, which suggests the U.S. supermodel posted a photo of herself wearing an Israeli flag for a dress, is being shared online. According to the fabricated image, the screenshot was captured seven hours after Hadid supposedly published the post to her 60 million followers. The image used in the fabricated post is also altered. In the original, she is wearing a plain white dress (archived) without an Israeli flag. There is no evidence Bella Hadid posted the edited photo to Instagram.

Some tech leaders see the gadgets as the iPhone of the AI era, a way to own the hardware we use to interact with AI. A true iPhone successor could be tech's "golden goose," but past attempts have failed. The race is on as generative AI tools like ChatGPT, OpenAI's conversational AI chatbot, take the world by storm. Even though he said AI hardware innovations represent "the golden goose for tech players in the next decade along with software," he doesn't think all of them will be successful.
