CNN —Two Georgia election workers who won a massive verdict against Rudy Giuliani because he defamed them after the 2020 election are asking a federal judge to hold him in contempt of court. The pair, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, say Trump continues to repeat harmful lies about them on his nightly broadcast, in defiance of court orders. Accordingly, the Court should hold him in contempt and enter civil contempt sanctions,” Freeman and Moss’ lawyers wrote to Judge Beryl Howell in the DC District Court. Howell presided over the trial where a jury found Giuliani defamed Freeman and Moss so severely that he should pay them $150 million. He has already lost his law license because of his work for the Trump campaign in 2020, which included his efforts in Georgia.

Spirit Airlines said Monday it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after struggling with losses, growing debt and a failed merger during the post-pandemic travel lull. The deal comes with a commitment of $350 million in equity investment from bondholders, which it said equates to $795 million of outstanding debt. The company's share price fell from £3.22 to $1.15 last week after the Wall Street Journal reported it was preparing to file for bankruptcy protection, closing on $1.07 on Friday. Spirit said last month it would cut jobs and sell 23 older planes in a bid to save $80 million. Industry analysts said at the time that the court's decision left Spirit with few options but to face a likely restructure and bankruptcy.

If Giuliani didn’t give up the full list of items ordered by a judge last month, he could be held in contempt of court. Giuliani has indicated in court proceedings one watch is from his grandfather and two others were gifts from European leaders after the September 11, 2001, attacks. The pair are also still fighting in court to try to win his $3.5 million Palm Beach, Florida, condo and four Yankees World Series rings from the 1990s and 2000. Giuliani is still arguing he should be able to keep living in the Palm Beach condo and Manhattan apartment, and that he gave the World Series rings to his son years ago.

Rivian Automotive and Volkswagen Group have released details of their previously announced joint venture ahead of the operations launching Wednesday. The name of the joint venture, which was expected to close during the fourth quarter, is "Rivian and VW Group Technology, LLC." At the closing of the joint venture, VW will invest about $1.3 billion "as consideration for background IP licenses and a 50% equity stake in the joint venture." The joint venture will be headed by Rivian Chief Software Officer Wassym Bensaid and VW Group Chief Technical Engineer Carsten Helbing. Shares of Lilium tanked Thursday after the air taxi firm said in a filing that its two main subsidiaries will file for insolvency in the coming days. The German aerospace startup's shares plunged more than 60% before paring losses to 45% following the news. Lilium was seeking to raise 50 million euros ($54 million) of loans from the state coffers, however its request was rejected by lawmakers. In all, Lilium was trying to raise a convertible loan of 100 million euros.
