Agemo has exited stealth with $4 million to build AI that turns text prompts into software. Essentially, this required them to train their AI models to reason like a team of engineers. Agemo finds itself up against the likes of Poolside, which raised $500 million in October, and Magic, which raised $320 million in August. To combat this problem, Agemo is building AI systems that can "reason" in software. AdvertisementEurope's answer to Poolside and MagicTo differentiate it from competitors such as Poolside and Magic, the startup says it has developed a neurosymbolic AI system for software reasoning.

Yet some adult lifestyle factors still appeared to be linked with improved cognitive performance and slower aging of the brain. “We are now looking into whether different constellations of brain ageing features are driven by particular subsets of risk factors.”As a researcher of the aging brain, Dr. Richard Isaacson said, the new paper spoke to him. There is a robust body of research on key differences in lifestyle that may contribute to differences in an aging brain. Adding a heart-healthy diet to your routine also can help slow brain aging and reduce dementia risk. “Those things may not exactly cause Alzheimer’s, but it can fast forward cognitive aging and fast forward cognitive decline.

CNN —People who only exercise on weekends have a similar risk of developing mild dementia to those who work out more frequently, a new study has found. A team of academics from Latin America and Europe set out to determine whether the frequency of exercise affects the risk of developing mild dementia. The finding led the team to conclude that 13% of cases of mild dementia could be avoided if all middle-aged people exercised at least once or twice a week. When compared with the group that did not exercise, the weekend warriors were 13% less likely to develop mild dementia, and those in the regular and combined groups were 12% less likely. I feel quite strongly that the weekend warriors around the world should be told that what they are doing is fine.”He added: “The weekend warrior research is starting to add up now.

Biden mentioned Puerto Rico, slandered as a “floating island of garbage” by a comedian at Trump’s event on Sunday night. “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said, pausing for a moment before continuing. She’s now almost certain to be asked whether she also regards Trump’s backers as “garbage.” Her answer will only prolong the story. In a neck-and-neck race that may be decided by mere thousands of votes in swing states, neither Harris nor Trump can afford mistakes. Heart failure is a more severe form of heart disease, in which the heart is too weak to pump enough blood and oxygen to the body’s organs. JuvenescenceFasting, low-carb, high-fat diets like keto, and drinking ketone esters can all prompt ketones to circulate in a person's blood. Ketone ester drinks don't require the liver to convert fat into ketones, which is what happens with fasting and the keto diet. "If you were wanting to lose weight, you want to be burning your own fat and turning it into ketones," Stubbs said. Ketone drinks don't do that. But she also says that any eventual geriatric recommendation for ketone esters isn't likely to be one-size-fits-all.

The Summary A new study found that some members of an octopus species hunt cooperatively in groups with fish. A new study shows that some members of the species Octopus cyanea maraud around the seafloor in hunting groups with fish, which sometimes include several fish species at once. It’s an indication that at least one octopus species has characteristics and markers of intelligence that scientists once considered common only in vertebrates. These hunting groups typically included several species of reef fish, such as grouper and goatfish. These are the ambush predators, the ones that don’t move, don’t look for prey,” Sampaio said.

The latest research looked at a part of the brain called the olfactory bulb, which processes information about smell. Connecting the olfactory bulb and the nasal cavity is the olfactory nerve. Some researchers worry the olfactory pathway may also be an entry point for microplastics getting into the brain, beyond the olfactory bulb. Mauad and her team took samples of olfactory bulb tissue from 15 cadavers of people who died between the ages of 33 and 100. The presence of microplastics in the olfactory bulb doesn’t automatically mean there are microplastics elsewhere in the brain, such as regions related to cognition.

These studies aim to develop a better understanding of women's menopause symptoms like depression, insomnia, and hot flashes, with the goal of developing more helpful treatments. Well-being and cognitive declineMore research is needed due to the lack of diversity in this study, which also includes the fact that participants were volunteers from communities with higher levels of education, the study authors said. It’s possible that poor well-being may lead to cognitive impairment and vice versa. On one hand, greater well-being may lower risk for cognitive impairment and dementia by mitigating the effects of Alzheimer’s disease processes on cognition, the authors said. Positive well-being has been associated with lower levels of inflammatory cytokines and lower cardiovascular risk, which can reduce risk of cognitive impairments. Compared with participants who remained cognitively intact, those who developed cognitive impairment were more likely to be older and have lower body mass index (BMI) and lower psychological well-being.
