Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes said Sunday that she has “no intention” of dropping the criminal case against a group of President-elect Donald Trump’s allies who sought to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Arizona. “I have no intention of breaking that case up. I have no intention of dropping that case,” Mayes, a Democrat, told MSNBC’s Ali Velshi. Those charged include big names like former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. The case is set to go to trial in 2026, but the defendants have sought to have the case dismissed.

The 2020 campaign may have also suffered from a lack of imagination about how big the turnout would be and what Democrats were doing in the courts to expand the vote, a Trump campaign adviser said. Other familiar names from 2020 election lawsuits have been spotted this year too. One is Karen DiSalvo, who after the 2020 election helped force an audit in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. CNN —Christina Bobb, the indicted RNC official and former One America News host, is dodging a deposition in a 2020-related defamation lawsuit, according to Dominion Voting Systems, which is battling her in court. Lawyers for Dominion said a filing Monday that Bobb’s lawyers didn’t answer their emails in March and May when they tried to schedule Bobb’s deposition. After then-President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, Bobb used her on-air role at OAN to repeatedly promote baseless conspiracy theories about the results being rigged, including by Dominion software. After a shakeup at the RNC earlier this year, Bobb and other Trump loyalists assumed top leadership posts, with Bobb focusing on so-called “election integrity” efforts. CNN —Boris Epshteyn, a close adviser to Donald Trump and former White House aide, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to election subversion charges stemming from an April indictment in Arizona. Epshteyn, who appeared in court Tuesday via phone, is one of 18 defendants who, according to the indictment, “schemed to prevent the lawful transfer of the presidency to keep Unindicted Coconspirator 1 in office against the will of Arizona’s voters.”While Trump is not among those charged in Arizona, the details in the indictment suggest he is “Unindicted Coconspirator 1.”The scheme, according to the indictment, called for the fake electors to fraudulently vote for Trump, “falsely claiming to be the duly elected and qualified Electors for President and Vice President of the United States from the State of Arizona.”Epshteyn joined the Trump campaign in 2016 and is considered one of the former president’s most loyal advisers, speaking with him regularly. Giuliani was served Friday in Palm Beach, Florida, at his 80th birthday bash held by a GOP operative. Arizona prosecutors spent weeks trying to track down Giuliani and eventually found him based on some of his podcasts.
